Goat in my tub
Izzy the goat had her baby and wasn't feeling like feeding it. Brought the new little lady inside and with Grandson's help we fed her some goat starter. I have it on hand for emergencies.
Kept her in the bathroom in the tub for about four hours. Fed her twice. Took her back out to the goat pen about 40 minutes ago and forced the issue. Again, with Grandson's help since I can only use one wing at the moment.
Keeping them separated for a few hours seemed to have helped. Izzy began missing her baby. After keeping Izzy pinned where she couldn't kick the baby away she began to let her nurse. After about five minutes of this we let them loose inside the pen to see what would happen. No more kicking at the baby.
Hopefully that is the last of the goat in the tub. Here's the baby and mama:

The stubborn old goat.
Hope it all turns out well.
I thought "what is Tom Brady doing in Susie's tub".
Mom went on a road trip back in the early 80s with a family friend and his wife . They drive out to Indiana to pick up a brood sow to incorporate a new bloodline in his swine operation . The were on a winebago pulling a stock trailer. Sow gave birth on the way back . Had to put the piglets i n the camper bathtub for the rest of trip, stopping every 2 or 3 hours for them to nurse . Never did get the smell out of the camper
Sounds like something that would happen to me. Livestock keep life interesting.
Sounds like my wife over the years we have had a wide range of sick or baby critters in the bath room many times
What a cutie!!! I've wanted goats for years, but I just cannot handle another thing to take care of here. We have a LOT of overgrown property that has steep inclines and such. Goats would be the perfect solution. One day.....ONE DAY.....I'm going to get this place fenced in and get some!
my wife has owned a few over the years the dwarf ? versions and the normal size ones . they acted like dogs would follow her around
ther is a local auction 1st weekend each month animals and what ever you want to bring goes , I expect her to possibly bringing home a baby goat or two after she retires next spring . every time we go last few years not often , any more she has to check out the goats LOL
