When the chores are done and all the livestock cared for ,,,,,,,, it’s time for some fun.
And roping wild cattle (bull in this pic) provides the entertainment ,,,,,,,, 😉 That’s a full grown bull, but the inbreeding has him stunted. Albeit wild as hell.
This one has stopped for a well deserved breather and ol’ Dewy and Pink (not shown) got’em to a standstill. The ropes came off and the dogs were heeled to let him go.

Okay then, a man has to have something to do.
Bullet works better than a rope. Meat in the freezer😁
That’s on Federal land ,,,,,,, you can take’em to the livestock sale and the Feds get ‘half’ the money but I don’t think you can hunt them ,,,,,,,,, Plus, they would be full of parasites and any bovine disease.
Term 'Dally up!" comes to mind. Stunted or not he's still bigger than me.
Not sure I've ever seen that roping style. Can we get a blow-by-blow of just how all that rope got where it is?
There’s two ropes on the bull. The slack is due to the dogs having him stopped and held.
The rope on the hind hock was used to put him on the ground while a ‘mugger’ holds the head to remove both catch ropes ,,,,,,, similar to heeling and dragging to the hot iron.
Be a lot of work but can you rope and load a few for yourself? Wouldn't be worth much but if a man could get a start on scrubs that way.
And some good entertainment is had by all 🤠 !!!

Oh, ok. Now I know "the rest of the story"! So assume that is all for practice then? Too bad you can't eat em.
That's some old school team ropin' action, right there. Ya make yer fun where you can find it!
Actually, the young Black Mouth Curs are getting good experience ,,,,,,,,, as far as eating, you’d have to cut’em with a hacksaw ,,,,,,,, 😉
That's what I meant...practice... training.
Good dog,,,
Just how much inbreeding does it take to stunt a bull that much??
A friend of mine had a Tort buck that won first place in Torts at the Dutch Rabbit Nationals. He bred that buck back to his daughters, granddaughters etc. until that buck was siring 31/32s pure the original buck. The rabbits still looked good but they were REAL nuts, nasty dispositions.
