We Are Fully Vaccinated
Some of you may think it's stupid or dangerous, but Dawnie and I are fully vaccinated against the Chinese engineered and weaponized virus. I still haven't seen any sanctions against the Chinese for their murderous act.
Two days ago, we went to our pharmacy and got the booster dose, the third dose, of the Moderna vaccine. We expected some negative effects. Yesterday, Dawnie was sick all day, major body aches and a general malaise. She stayed in bed most of the day. I got up and about and drove to Arlington to visit my mother. My illness was delayed a bit, and didn't bother me until I was driving home, and I felt very tired. Got home, ate a light dinner and went to bed early. I didn't ache, but I felt feverish, my nose stopped up, and I was very fatigued. I slept like a rock and got up feeling good.

First of month we get the booster. Glad you are feeling better.
I never got the 1st. shot to booster up and........I feel great 😀

The wife and I got both plus the booster and had no ill effects.
For now.
Since our government helped fund the gain of function research, I can't think of too many reasons we would sanction the Chinese for it.
Hope all goes well for you Nunn.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Wife and I got both shots and booster and also had no side effects. If not for our age and especially for some of my wife's medical conditions we thought it would be the best course of action.
Got all three Pfizer shots and never had one side effect. I almost wonder if they were even real. On the plus side have not had the China virus yet I know of.
jabbed up and good to go.
Nunn and his wife had the virus. I suspect their immune systems kick in when they got this last dose as it recognized something to fight and was already geared up for it. Having ill affects from a vaccine is just your immune system doing it;s job, which is how you develop resistance.
Glad you and the wife are doing okay.
Great to hear you and Dawnie are doing well, nunn.
Each to their own, I have no plans of getting any of the shots.
We waited until after the initial rush to see if there were any major problems. We have all 3 shots now with nothing more then a sore arm.
The best thing is that you were freely able to make the decision to get the shots or not. Of course, you guys having been sick with Covid once may have helped to make your decision. I read something a week or so ago that said getting the shots after recovering from Covid increases your resistance 25x against getting sick again.
Judy and I have both had 3 shots of Moderna and all I got was a sore arm. Judy had a slight fever and no energy for less than a day after both her 2nd shot and booster. As I type this, she is doing her weekly volunteer work at a drive thru vaccination clinic in the nearby town. This once a week clinic started the middle of January last year and she has been there every week since they started. I am kinda proud of her dedication to helping out and the staff she works with has voiced their appreciation in various neat ways. Bob
@BobJudy "The best thing is that you were freely able to make the decision to get the shots or not."
THIS!!! I have no problem with people making their own choice, but being forced to take something or lose your job is NOT OK! Yet some of you believe it to be fine.... Talk about drinking the Kool aid...
Dawnie teaches elementary school, and was not required to have the shots. She figured it was a good move, since she is around grubby little kids every day. I figured it was a good move because I am around Dawnie, who is around grubby little kids every day. I also spend some time in our local high school as a substitute teacher, and I have mild cardiovascular disease, chronic bronchitis, and kidney disease.
So, I figured taking the shot was a good idea. We both had COVID around a year ago, and dodged a bullet. My case was very mild, so I was able to take care of Dawnie. Had I not been here, she would have had to go to a hospital. Had I been as sick as she was, we would both have been hospitalized.
I don't know why it is, but I see people older than I being exposed and not catching the disease, or catching it and having a mild case. Then I see people younger and healthier than I getting sick and dying, or having a lengthy hospital stay followed by months of rehab/physical therapy.
I will not condemn any of you for not vaccinating. That's your choice. I just hope and pray you don't end up regretting your decision. Likewise, for me and those who are vaccinated, I hope and pray we don't end up regretting our decision.
Nunn, very well stated.
I did HVAC work for many years, much of it in Hospitals and clinics. When I started I was concerned about what I would be exposed to in the hospital environment.Certain areas we had to dress out and use respirators but mostly not.Never picked up any sickness that I know of in the hospitals. The we got a contract for a few schools. If you worked in a elementary during cold weather months there was a very good chance of coming down with some sort of bug.I think those younger kids had every type cold and flu known to man.
My son survived 2 weeks in ICU with covid pneumonia.
The isolation was worse than the covid.
He had been out for a week when a lung collapsed Tuesday. Went to the closest hospital and they sent him to the med center about 25 miles away. Notified ER he was on the way. Met him at the door and rushed to the OR. Got him straightened out and afterwards Doc said God must have been in the ambulance with you.
Age 47 and as healthy as a horse, Paramedic by profession. Doctor told us today that covid was hittling middle aged folks worse than any other group.
That is so true because they have not developed the immunities acquired wit age.
My wife was a high school teacher. She would get the flu every year when she was teaching.
She retired in 2013 and she has not had the flu since she retired.
My wife unit, issue one each, is a middle school teacher, and never gets sick.
Her and her friends have talked that they think they have a better immune system because they're exposed to the little snot nosed Vermon constantly.
It is alarming to see the number of cops who die from Covid. I look at the Officer Down Memorial Page often and there are new faces popping up all the time.
They are really putting their life on the line
