Elizabeth Warren on student loan forgiveness

chris8X57chris8X57 Member Posts: 1,237 ✭✭✭✭

I don't get this...

So you pass the debt on to the tax payer? I didn't ask for the loan, I get no benefit from someone's free education, but I have to help pay for it?

Does it mean that all the doctors that get free a free education will charge their patients less? Not bloody likely.

This stupid woman was on TV this morning raving about how great the Biden administration is and how the US should support his agendas. Their socialist agenda scares the crap out of me.

They are just buying votes {The Democrats} from the poor and The Republicans will when in power (sell votes) to the lobbyist. It's a good game up there when The Federal Reserves extends credit for both giveaways on the back of what's left of the middle class.

It's all a shill game and we the people are being played just like they do at the casino tables. Wake up!

Its more than that Serf: Its a lifetime supply of money that goes straight into the pockets of radical DEMOCRAT activists disguised as teachers, professors etc. Even worse, it is government money used by academia to indoctrinate students toward partisan DEMOCRAT dogma: Meaning disdain for America and advancement of Socialism.

Costs of college these days is exorbitant and many universities are struggling to attract students. Free college will solve this problem for them.

It simply exposes the elitist power and money grab. Sociocommunists have done this since the October Revolution. This is the deliberate transfer of wealth from the middle class to the ruling elites. The difference here is that they are prematurely playing their hand to the point that the middle class should recognize it before the power is solidified.

Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

I suspect both sides of Congress political parties are sitting pretty with all the favors and give aways up there In D.C. with huge tax breaks for the rich and massive socialism programs for the poor while the middle class evaporates under free trade deals and automation of A.I. machines pushing out skilled workers here shortly.

Illegals coming in by the millions demanding citizenship and welfare with entitlements is not helping either. Interest rates are going up and Red China has ask The Federal Reserve not to kill the golden goose! What a joke it all has become.

China is urging central banks in the West not to hike interest rates too fast to fight inflation as it goes in the other direction to battle a sharp economic slowdown.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday called on major world economies to spur growth by coordinating their policies as the world continues to pull itself out of the turmoil caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

"The global industrial chains and supply chains have been disrupted. Commodity prices continue to rise. Energy supply remains tight. These risks compound one another and heighten the uncertainty about economic recovery," Xi told attendees of the 2022 World Economic Forum during a speech delivered online.

forgiving student loans does NOT teach honesty and integrity that one receives and i would rather imagine that many do not pay hoping to get a free pass.......got a grandkid that just received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy, had two job offers before graduation...in top 20% of class......bought a nice house in a OK neighborhood .....off 3 days a week and gets overtime pay... i told him to bust his butt paying that off and then hang a certificate on the wall to show that he had a dedicated professional attitude

What the media are NOT telling you about student loan debt:

The highest-income 40% of households (those with incomes above $74,000) owe almost 60% of the outstanding education debt and make almost 3/4 of the payments. The lowest-income 40% of households hold just under 20% of the outstanding debt and make only 10% of the payments.

Additionally, many borrowers participate in income-driven repayment plans, which do not require any payments from those whose incomes are too low, and limit payments to an affordable share of income for others. And some borrowers are in forbearance or deferment because of financial hardships. As a result, out-of-pocket loan payments are concentrated among high-income households; few low-income households enrolled in IDR are required to make payments.

Education debt is concentrated in households with high levels of educational attainment. In 2019, households with graduate degrees owed 56% of the outstanding education debt, and 14% of adults hold graduate degrees. The 3% of adults with professional and doctorate degrees hold 20% of the education debt. These households have median earnings more than twice as high as the overall median ($106,000 vs. $47,000 in 2019).

Bottom line, if student loan forgiveness happens, it will be those who never went for higher education, paying off the loans of people with graduate degrees.

Cream rises to the top just like the brain gets the most blood resources when stressed, so all the hype about how you can be better off with higher education is false. All it really does is separate the highly intelligent from the less intelligence for the system to use.

WHY DO YOU THINK ELON MUSK IS WORRIED ABOUT Artificial intelligence,

What it means is hygienists will get to repay the loans of the dentists they work for. This is what the Democrats want.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

We're looking at a whole generation of now adult (age wise anyway) folks who have no sense of responsibility. They've gone from parents paying the bills and covering the kids' mistakes to government 'forgiving' their student loans. They've been handed everything for so long that they think this is the way it should be. Now as voting adults(?), they'll vote for whomever promises a continuation of the hand out program.

My kids went to college on their own dime supplemented by scholarships. They worked on the farm and had their own income from those efforts. When they went to college, they chose majors that had a good chance of leading to worthwhile jobs and all went straight into paying jobs after graduation.

Many of the current crop of college students are pursuing educations in something that has little or no future value and nearly ZERO job opportunities. If they do get a job after graduation, most likely it's no better than what they could have had straight out of high school. Time and money wasted for no purpose.

They count on the people being uneducated and uninformed. They planned it so they can benefit from it.

    Prove me wrong.
