Weatherby Scope?

A man here is offering me a Weatherby 6X62 "Imperial" scope with a post-dot reticle made in Germany for $250. I found out they were made in Germany between 1964-72 or so, then Weatherby went to Asia for their optics. I haven't had a chance to inspect it, just wondering if that is a decent price.

From what little I can find, it seems a bit high. I found one that was listed in a classified section in arkansashunting.net about four hours ago for $250/obo. Look at that one and go from there. Good luck.
When they were new, they had pretty decent optics compared to a lot of the other scopes on the market. I think you will find that if compared side by side with todays scopes in that price range the Weatherby will come up short. Add the fact that there will be no warranty makes me think the price is a bit high. However, compared to a lot of other scope brands, relatively few were produced and a guy with a period Weatherby rifle may want that scope to complete his outfit so that can raise the price to that level. Exactly Right.
If it is like new and the right person needs it to complete a collection, price = $$$$$$
That's the one! He is local to me, and listed it after offering it to me. I think I'm going to pass on it after doing some googling. Thanks for the replies!!!
