Police With No Knock Warrant Shoot and Kill a Man
Also Friday morning, a leading state gun rights group contended that Locke acting legally when he armed himself as several Minneapolis police SWAT officers rushed into the downtown apartment, which family members say belonged to a relative.
The assessment from the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus comes after the city released police body-worn camera video showing the officers entering the unit in the Bolero Flats As Locke stirred, his right hand could be seen holding a gun, and within seconds one of them opened fire and fatally wounded the young man.
As seen in the video, "Mr. Locke appears to be sleeping on the couch during the execution of a no-knock warrant," read a statement from Bryan Strawser, who chairs the caucus. "He is awoken with a confusing array of commands coming from multiple officers who are pointing lights and firearms at him."
Rob Doar, a caucus senior vice president, said that Locke "did what many of us might do in the same confusing circumstances. He read for a legal means of self-defense while he sought to understand what was happening."
Doar asserted that "the tragic circumstances of Mr. Locke's death were completely avoidable. It's yet another example where a no-knock warrant has resulted in the death of an innocent person."

From a layman's perspective, I can imagine damn few instances where the advantages of a no knock warrant outweigh the risk.
Yawn. I Read the links. Then some more .. We are supposed to be outraged, but none of the relevant facts are given. Knock or not wouldn’t have mattered. Present a gun at a raid and you get shot. One reason I don’t hang out in places that might be raided. The knocking is a red herring ….another poor ethnic man cut down… yawn. You probably also shouldn’t sleep with firearms.
no knock warrants are hard to get and the petitioning officer needs to articulate why it’s needed. Usually that’s a combo of dope, weapons , and criminal history.
No need for a no knock warrant.
Sooner or later the person of interest is going to come outside for something, nab'em then.
No knock warrants are unconstitutional and should only be used in times of war.
This case is an outrage. This guy was a legal gun owner. These no knock warrants have got to go.
Here is an easy link for the video. Sure looks like an execution to me. Nine seconds between opening the door and shooting him. Who here doesn't have a pistol close by when they sleep?

I call that BS. ANYONE and I mean ANYONE who breaks into my house or where ever I may be legally sheltered is going to meet the business end of what ever gun I have at hand. Mis-information, mistake, or just plain confusion is no difference. Cop, burglar, confused husband looking for his errant spouse is no difference.
What about when your crashing on the sofa of a dope house lol. I thought we were supposed to be getting. joe Rogan cancelled. Yawn it’s bs.
don’t fall for manipulative agenda driven media propaganda just because it’s written with an anti police flair.
I highly trust the opinions of ex-cops when it comes to police matters. Reason why I get my news here at GBGD.
no news in the article, other than armed somebody was killed in a warrant service Certainly not cause to get spun up.

Did they find what they were looking for in the apartment? Was there evidence of a crime or wanted persons? That would make a difference to me.
IMO that is not relevant to the evaluation of the procedure used. A "the end justifies the means" approach evaluation is the the equivalent of tail chasing. This time we found what we expected, it was okay. We didn't find what was expected we shouldn't have done that.
The warrant was for a man wanted in connection to a homicide. He was not there. The dead guy had a legal pistol and a concealed carry permit, and no criminal record.

Like I said, be prepared to defend yourself against ANY deadly threat. At least he tried.
