Daytona loses Busch Clash as NASCAR moves exhibition race to L.A. Coliseum in 2022

Will this be the first race ran entirely in 1st gear, pretty short track eh?
Mule
All those cars on a 1/4 mile oval. Rear gears have to be in the 5.6 ratio or even higher.
Are mask required? Don
Gonna be pretty tough to maintain any kind of social distancing on a tiny track like that.
Does it make sense, full size vehicles on something smaller than some go cart tracks?
I know zip about race cars, but figured they would be running ratios in low 4’s for maximum acceleration on such a short straight away?
as usual brain flopped on ratios, a 5.6 would be better than a higher 4 for acceleration.
Track is same size as the Little 500 in central indiana. They race there around memorial day each yr like the Indy 500. However they also race figure 8 with a crossover.
NASCAR is doing anything to catch a crowd and the advertising money these days, it'll get worse too.

select-fire, I've been to that figure 8 a few times but it's been 40+ years ago. SE side of Indy but I forget just where. I also had season tickets for Bristol (as many as 7 at one time) but started losing interest when they went to the car of tomorrow. Then the Indiana guys retired so I quit buying tickets about 15 or so years ago. As my late dad told me that nothing lasts forever.
cbxjeff that would be Sun Valley Speedway in Anderson
I just turned over to it and watched ten minutes of commercials before I saw the first lap.
NASCAR spent millions to promote the event... two weeks the track will be tore out. Great Short Track racing
Go Karts racing around that track would have been more interesting, it appeared they had a very sparse crowd in the stands.....which is understandable.

Kyle Busch didn't win. Daytona 500 the 20th
select-fire, it is the Indianapolis Speedrome at Kitley & Brookville Rd. I had to ask a pal because I couldn't remember the name. I think that it's still in operation.
Eventually NASCAR racing will be less popular than rugby or curling.
I found the Mahindra tractor commercial more entertaining than the race.
Well they had a few issues to sort out on the new cars.. hopefully that will help out for Daytona. I really like NASCAR throwing all that money away just to promote a short track race. Shows how strong the sport is.
"Noose" finished where I figured he would, bringing up the rear.
Even the rookies finished ahead of him . Team Jordan didn't do so well. Hamlin was out quick. Busch crashed by bubba.. and bubba was a few laps down.
Saw about a minute of it.
A stupid idea.

Reading the results from many sources the 37.5mile race was beyond a success. No clue if NASCAR will go back there but expanding it horizons . I am thinking maybe they have a new promoter... as of like Humpy Wheeler use to do.
Was that because the tractor was going faster than the cars in the race?

You are funny. Sorry the race wasn't up to the standards you require. However it had a nice purse of 2million
Looking forward of watching the qualifying heats for Daytona
