Item sold and relisted?

Item #924162292 was sold on the 18th with no reserve. It was almost immediately relisted as #924854567 by the same seller. There were 27 bids including me. If the winning bidder refused the item shouldn't it have been offered to the next highest bidder? The "winning" bidder raised the price $345 during the last hour of bidding competing with a single remaining bidder, an NR. What gives? How can the seller resell this item if it has 26 other legitimate bids on it? I have contacted the seller to no avail. Again, I repeat, there was no reserve on this item. It states "This item has been sold". Thanks, Eddie

it goes to high bidder, if he was a non paying bidder, which they have had a lot of lately he can auction it off again, second place does no good in these auctions........
There is no way for a seller to contact anyone except the winning bidder after an auction is over. I wish there was but understand why GB can't allow that.
This is Gun Broker and not some other auction site. The second place bidder on a GB auction is the first loser. In the case of a non paying bidder, the only way for a seller to get his listing fees refunded is to relist the item and then start all over again with a new listing.
Considering you've been on GB for 20 years, I surprised you didn't know that this is Gun Broker's policy.

Thanks Mark, I am guilty of not reading fine print. I don't post much, but I do read other postings. Sorry if I offended anyone. I really enjoy the forums and have purchased some very nice items on the auction side. Again, thank you for your prompt reply. I shall be Quietly on the side.
In the case of non paying bidders, these last two years have stretched everyone's patience- buyers and sellers, to the limit.
There is another option.
Seller has more than one of this particular item.
Bid away!
Always a possibility, but in this case, not likely:
Antique 1893 Winchester 1892 .218 Bee? 19” Reblued Rebarreled - Antique Guns at GunBroker.com : 924162292
Touche!
I guess that's a non possibility.
Still, bid away!
Had a guy run bids on 3 rifles , 5 grand then never paid he was confused on the ones he bid on- another argued shipping fees, one more refused to pay sales tax. A revolver, guy said he never knew he bid on it until I contacted him-- I responded- Bull you get an email as soon as your place a bid! Then came the disabled vet fixed income story. I told him he better contact GB to get his account straight.. He writes back-OR WHAT!
Many can't follow simple instructions or respond to 2-3 emails until you ding them with a payment notice
Same question asked over and over again when I take the time to explain the item , usually an old rifle's condition. Over on a few forums guy keep getting scammed. IMO failure to get proper ID-address-contact info it every day.
Then the other side of the coin is 1000% opposite- positive
I was hoping with all the lack of merchandise the drop ship flea market cons would be less

Great to see ya post, Eddie. How's things?
That is a cool rifle.
I sell and relist the item far more often than in previous years, and far more often than I like. Lots of non-payers out there. I'm about to deal with a half-dozen or so of them later today.
We are doing just fine. Covid hasn't affected us, we refuse to take the shots. I got a fishing license for my birthday, can't wait for the ice to go out! Been doing a bit of snow shoeing. And we still have a lot of firewood left!! Be safe, yer fren, Eddie
