My bro bought 75 acres in W. Virginia

Purchased sight unseen, though a friend went and walked the property.
He has had a group of friends who deer hunt in West Virginia for at least 10-15 years.
I think he was a bit “homesick” as he is currently living in Hawaii, but purchased a land in West Virginia.
I am told there’s a little cabin with plumbing and electric on the property.
Very happy for him. He may make a hunter out of me yet!

Heck yes!!
Wow, that's a nice place ! That's a LITTLE cabin? Looks pretty bodacious to me.
Very nice
"Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge mountains, Shenandoah River..."
How much did it cost? Just curious, I own 48 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Called a realtor in Ky last Sat about a nice place just over the Tenn. border. 171 acres backed up to a river with a 8 acre pond. House and a small cabin for a helper to live on site. It was already a pending sale. Still looking. Congrats on the purchase.
I believe he said 250K.
Its in Randolph county, W.V. and a long time friend owns a property the adjoins to it.
That sounds about right. Glad he got what he wanted.
Warbirds. been looking seriously in Tenn, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan for 100 acreage with a nice home. One in the upper peninsula of Michigan had a lot of acreage. Showed it to the Wife and she asked that the place must not be very safe..had bars on the windows... I told her they were on to keep the bears out... Check that place off the list .
I swear to god I stayed there one weekend. The owner at the time was a friend of mine. He sold it about five years ago. It was nice. When the sun went down, it was dark. The road up to it was a goat path. We needed four wheel drive and it was a dry road. There was an old cemetery along the road along the ridge top. And an abandoned church and-or a school house. It meant that many more people lived up there. That surprised me. There was a trout hatchery on the elk river I think where osprey would dive down and pick up trout that were 18" long or more then take it 15 feet into the air and drop it. Too heavy I figured.
I am totally jealous. That place looks like a keeper for sure. If he can't turn you into a hunter just remember that deer camps need a cook too. 😀 Bob
That's good bear country too. There's a season where they hunt them with dogs. The biggest meanest looking dogs I've ever seen.
Taxes are ridiculous low in WV too. At least compared to PA.
That’s living. Hope he makes the move and sets up shop off grid and away from the craziness.
wow congrats just a beautiful place
I would love to have such a place . to call my own
Looks like the shooter on the grassy knoll will be doing it from a comfortable deck!
Talk about the middle of nowhere! Randolph County is about as remote as it gets on the east coast. Beautiful country.
They used to run the Blackwater 100 Enduro race near there. https://dirtwheelsmag.com/wide-open-19/amp/
If I find my dream acreage a few select folks on this forum will have an invite to hunt.
That is some beautiful country. I spent a month near Elkins working on a log cabin.
Looks nice, When is he moving?
