The state or the city?
The state!
What route, ish?
We are planning to drive up to Camas Washington for the "start" of the trip....then work our way back down. This can change depending on who all needs us to meet them. If it makes more sense to drive one route up and another one back to meet different people we can make that happen.
Its going to be two of my people doing this trip. I got to drive over to Colorado last year, so its their turn to see the sights!
Might want to bring a bunch of AR, AK, Glock, SIG & Beretta mags with you to sell. On Friday night the Washington State legislature passed a magazine ban but it doesn’t take effect until July 1(any mag owned by that date can be kept). But I foresee a run on mags in Washington up until that date.
That is a long drive from Alabama !!!
Is there any chance you will be near west central Illinois?
I have a couple people that are actually in Illinois that we're trying to get a trip worked out for.....but they keep putting things off. We've been touching base for over a year now. So, I can keep you in the loop on those plans too. This trip is being sorted out by a coworker and I'm sure they can work out getting you on the route. Shoot me an email and I'll put you on the list for him to contact you with the details for the April route. mckaygunsales@gmail.com
Yes.....this is a LONG trip for sure. With the loss of both parents in the past 6 months my co-worker is looking forward to getting away and taking a short break. They are going to be adding some days to squeeze in a bit of fun and sightseeing. In all, they are planning to be gone for 14 days.
So,you personally are not making this trip LF ??
I am not making this one....but two of my people are. With things being as in the air as they were I was planning to go if I needed to, but I got to do the Colorado trip last year. We had a couple that were looking forward to going, but personal things were preventing them from making plans to go. They are able to do it, so I am staying here and holding down the fort on this one.
Gottcha, OK. Wasn't sure to look for you coming through or not.
Its changing a bit. The reason we had Camas Washington on the list is not ready to commit to the trip, so we are trying to see who is the furthest out and what the numbers are of items we are picking up to get the best "bang" for everyones buck will be. The cost of the trip is estimated out between everyone fairly if we divide the cost of fuel and hotel by per gun. So, someone with just a few isn't going to pay as much as someone having us pick up a larger number of items. Its still very economical with the number of items we are planning to pick up.....well under the shipping costs. So, if you haven't gotten an email from us on this, touch base with me soon. He's looking at the 1st week of April.
Sad to hear this. I know the gang were looking forward to getting out of Remlap and seeing the western half of the country. Personally, I was looking forward to dropping a few items instead of mailing them. As for the potential Camas listings, I really wanted to see a collection that was worth a 4K mile round trip. Hope they reconsider. Please let us know when/if the trip to the west coast gets rescheduled.
We're working things out still.....there is still a trip planned and we're going pretty far out. I'll get the details and post them when we know more, but its still going to be a 7 to 10 day adventure.
Are you still planning on a Florida trip in the near future?
Yes....we've just now gotten things back to a normal schedule after the loss of a team's family member. We had a two week period that was up in the air and we had one really light batch get started during that time. So, I held off tossing out dates and such until I knew we were back to normal. The long distance trip has been a rollercoaster ride as far as plans have gone. We had the initial person we were making the trip for cancel, but lots of smaller batches were still interested....then an addition of two people from Washington were "in"....then they cancelled because one person is in the hospital.....so now we are just trying to figure out what exactly we are doing on that trip so we can nail down plans. I can easily head to Florida once I've got this other trip handled.
Thanks Kasey, just give me a heads up a few days in advance.
Kasey, if gas prices scuttle the trip West, I'm fine with that.
We're going to get a final estimate on the numbers and let everyone know what to expect this to cost "per gun" so we are all on the same page. So long as the numbers make it cheaper than shipping everyone should still take advantage of this. Even if the cost is up along what shipping things would cost....its still a safer option and less work for everyone if we pick things up rather than them have to box it all up and hope nothing happens to their items. Right now things are still looking like it will save people money to be included with the plans. I've had so many changes to this particular trip its hard to keep up.
