Chicken gizzards... more chicken gizzards please
Yesterday for the first time in the last 5 trips Aldi had fresh whole chicken for 1.49.
Ya'll can have my part.
They call them dang birds FOWL for many reasons!
Yep, can't buy live chickens in the four or five state area around me. I'm glad I bought my chickens before they shut down sales. Some poultry farms are having to euthanize flocks in the tens of thousands.
Already 2/3 Tyson and 2/3 turkey farms destroyed
It has been found in about 140 wild birds here so far ( NC). No reports of any found in commercial flocks .North Carolina produces in excess of 30 million turkeys and 980 million chickens yearly . If it gets into the commercial side it will be devastating
Someone a week or two ago said they were feeling bad, wen to doctor and said they had type 2 flu.
Isn't that bird flu?
Saw $0.99 a pound here today. I don’t like cooking whole birds, so passed.

Read on the Michigan DNR site that they have found it in Canada Geese, Mute Swans, Tundra Swans even some snowy owls so far from dead birds that they have collected.
Iowa was culling some pretty high numbers of chickens.
I read maybe a week ago 10 of thousands had been put down over the bird flu not a good thing especially now as sems like most ebry one is using more chicken due to the cost of beef . really going to hurt a lot of people
we buy the skinless family packs of chicken breast for our dogs (and do give some to the cats) . but local stores are really hit and miss last month or so to find any . my wife bought 3 packs today on the way home from work stopped in at wally world I think its about 5 pounds +/-- in each pack before baking them a lot of the weight is just added water 🤨 we normally go thru about 5 or 6 packages of it a week . sometimes we will make chicken noodles for our self but rarely
Another farm on the news going down over 500.000 birds
We'll see if they show up. I ordered 200 broiler chicks. Scheduled to show up April 19th.
Don't know where the feed store in town gets them from. Cornish cross.
Just need to keep the starlings and sparrows out of the coop.
One Jefferson County WI farm is destroying 2.5 million chickens that were raised to lay eggs. They are going to be composted/buried on a farm field. The price and supply of eggs will be affected for a while.
The local zoo has put all their birds in lock down.
