I'm not an expert, but it appears to be a 1891/30, which was the standard issue weapon of Soviet troops. Millions of these rifles were produced and used in World War II and beyond.
I think that is a M44 since it has a short barrel and a folding bayonet. And it has a Romanian crest.
It looks like it says 1954 on the barrel, so probably M44. Yes, the Czar in 1895, and then, the commies after 1917 cranked these rifles out by the millions.
A little tidbit l read today said 38 MILLION Mosins were produced... ln fact they are using today in Ukraine! Even the old original water cooled Maxim wheeled machine guns...
Conscripts sent to fight by pro-Russia Donbas get little training, old rifles, poor supplies - sources (yahoo.com)
Mine may have already killed a few Russians. Started as a M91 in 1895, and was captured by the Finns in WW1. During WW2 it was converted into a M39 with a new stock and barrel. Lots of Russians died during WW2, shot by a Finn on skis, with a Mosin Nagant. The Russians called it "The White Death."
More specifically "white death" was one individual. Simon Haya. But yes he used a Mosin. To great effect.
After you winged 'em with your Mosin Nagant rifle, you could finish him off with the Mosin Nagant pistol.
Wow! Thats nice. Probably not too pleasant to fire and I would guess some velocity loss but even since very impressive
Nice concealed carry piece!
My guess is more axis soldiers died from the butt and bayonet than bullets from those.
