Hey Montanan's....make room for another gb member.
Looks like we are finally getting out of Oregon and moving to an area that fits our thoughts/beliefs much better than where we currently are. We have made 5 trips from Oregon to Montana in the last 4 months w/o much success, only finding homes that come on, and sell within 12 hours, or ones that weren't even worth the drive.
A home that fit our wants came up last Sunday night. We called our Realtor on Monday, had a video tour on Tuesday, made an offer on Tuesday night and it was accepted Wednesday morning.
We then left Thursday morning with a check for earnest money, and an actual tour on Friday.
So now, it looks like Oregon will have 2 less residents and Montana will have 2 more ( at least we stopped 2 libtards from moving there).
The house is currently under construction, but is contracted to be completed by June first.
I've lived in Oregon all my life, so moving out of state is a big adventure......

Where in MT?
What Sam said.
East of Stevensville, out by the Lonerock school.
Oh yeah, the Bitterroot is a nice area. Absent member 35 Whelan lives down that way.
Welcome toad67, you will be +- 20 miles NE of of where I am located. Getting crazy around here….if I can assist with anything, let me know. FFguide.
Congrat's Toad! I hope your new life in Montana is a GREAT one!
Great Todd. Hope all transitions well!
Great news. Glad you’re getting out of the west coast craziness. Enjoy MT.
Thanks for the offer. Crazy is an understatement, I wasn't sure if I should start my own thread, or post in the thread about the crazy home prices...
Where are you in OR now. The east side seems to be fine, its the I5 corridor that is insane. MT is a great place but man its gets cold there and you do a lot of driving. Its been years since I was back there. I lived by Glasglow for a few years.
I'm in Forest Grove, which is about 30 miles west of the crappy town of Portland, right on the east side of the coast range mountains. It's a beautiful place to live, but the politics and liberals just make it unbearable anymore. The Bitteroot Valley isn't nearly as harsh as most of Montana, which is East of the Rockies.
Welcome aboard newbie
I'm sorry the Commies drove you out of Oregon. I have been told that pre-commie Oregon was a good place to live.
I'm glad you got out. I've heard Montana is a great place to live!! Congrats!
It really is an incredible place here. There's not too many States that have an ocean, desert, one of the highest mountains/volcano (Mt. Hood) in the US, one pf the largest rivers (Columbia) in the US and everything in between. I guess that is one of the reasons so many people want to live here. It was a wonderful place to grow up at, but now, it's a completely different story. It's the same here, as in many other States, the large cities run the whole shabang. I want to get out while I can still enjoy it.
Bitterroot this morning, 20F and snow.
Great! Just as free as Dixie.

Congrats on your escape, Todd! Looks like you're about three hours south of me. Tomorrow (4/12) will be the one year anniversary of my escape and relocation.
Oregon is an amazing place to be from. As you mentioned, ocean, mountains, desert, forests, rivers big and small, it's tough to beat. The liberals, though, have turned it into an intolerable cesspool of stupid ideology.
Congratulations, I am jealous. Working on escape but with prices the way there are it is taking more time to find the right piece of land to build on.
Liberalism is also happening in Montana. Folks moving from Blue states to escape what they have created and then continue to vote for what they are trying to escape from. I have seen a dramatic change in 20 years.
Congratulations Todd! You're probably looking at 8 or so inches of snow today with temps hovering around the freezing mark so it's good preparation for Montana weather. The Bitterroot isn't exactly known as a bastion of conservatism, so a couple more conservative voters will be a good thing for Montana. You won't be sorry for making the move. We're hoping to escape the NW in a couple years too.
Same here in NC. Between the Libtards from the north moving here and the commie professors al all the schools we have this state is getting more and more liberal.
The sad thing is the libtards don't even know who they vote for they just know its a democrap.
oh contraire' Bitterroot [ravalli county is conservative] missoula county leans left sharply. i'm in Victor maybe 15 miles from ya at most. trap range in Hamilton eastside, rifle to 300 yards/pistol range west of Hamilton
I can assure you that you will get no liberal nonsense from myself or Toad67. Guarandamnteed.
Thank you. Welcome to the team.
