What radicalized you?

Now, I suppose you think you may not be a radical, but even by association with this board, the world thinks you are.
That aside, assuming you've had some modicum of angst stirred up inside you, what was the one thing (if you can point to it) that first stirred it up?
I think, were I to pinpoint, it would probably have been the utter vitriol spewed by the left over the certification of the election of GWB over Gore. They sealed it with that for me. It awoke me to past happenings that should have though: Ruby Ridge, Waco, the MOVE raid. There have been so many egregious acts. This only just tips the balance a bit.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

8 Years of Bill Clinton did it for me.
Democrats..............starting with FDR.
I don't think of myself as a radical, but the thing that made me a conservative from a more liberal as a young teen was experiencing the way our soldiers were treated returning from Vietnam... after that my "hippy years" were done although I do have long hair and a beard most of the time...
In the 60's I would take one of dads antique pistols to school for show and tell. Then one day they said I could not anymore. This was a grade school in St.Louis county.
Hope this helps.
+ 1000 on @Ruger4me
I was gonna guess it was firearms without an accessory rail, for you.

Not true. No radical here.
In 1991 I was working shift work as an electrician. The other guy on my shift played talk radio all night , maybe NPR? The talk was all conservative on that station.
But before that, I realized my lot in life became much better during the Reagan years.
Military service back in 1968..then police officer. Then again, we all see life through a unique set of prisms. Even my goofy liberal friends...a bunch of bubble babies.
By the time I was 18 and could vote I knew Democrats were really bad and Republicans slightly better. Been registered as no party affiliation since unfortunately it always seems the only pick is the lesser of 2 evils
I'll get back to you on this one. Got to sort out one that stands out the most.
I could give you a laundry list.🤔
The sense of honor and personal responsibility was lost during Clinton......only to be upstaged by the great "cultural divide " brought on by Obama.
Just my lousy two cents......
I might have been a little radical in my misspent youth, But after marriage and fatherhood, I mellowed out.
But I still can't stand liberals!!!!!!

I guess in the beginning I was "radicalized" by association with my uncle due to the gun control act in 1968 signed by LBJ. He was furious over that. I was already leaning that way when JFK was elected but Johnson was even worse. In my opinion his presidency lives on and was the beginning of the end for this country.
The lying, cheating, and outright comminuting crimes by the US Government.

Yep.
Owing my own business for the last 40 years and paying estimated taxes each quarter.
Conservatism is just COMMON SENSE to me. I came from a family of Democrats but back in those days they were the working mans party. Republicans were more an upper class or business mans party. I was taught this ideology by my father.
I will admit that todays 2 party system is not even close to what it once was. I may lean towards many Republicans but always study carefully candidates on all sides including independents. It is getting harder and harder to choose. Many party affiliates resume's do not even come close to their parties mantra's. I have strong leanings on those who champion gun rights as well as family values. I mean Man & Woman, husband & wife. Our government by todays policies are not showing any favor to the traditional American family.
A Radical? If the current definition means someone who stands by the Constitution and is considered a patriot about God & Country. Who once took the oath to fight against tyranny, foreign and DOMESTIC. I reckon I be that.
Like Brookwood I too came from a long line of democrats .Grandfather was one of the main power brokers in the county . Thru the 30s till his death in the 1968. In the early 70s they began to veer away from center right and started the long slide left. I didn't leave the party , the party left me . Now neither party represents what was once called the silent majority very well .
If you don't believe in LGBTQRStuxv#1#2 biiinpoc...............you are a radical. If you believe in oil and gas............you are a radical. Believe in law and order..........you're a radical. Believe in God..........yup.........radical.
I guess I have been radical since the age of about 6
Good Ole' Uncle Sam showed me all manner of interesting equipment and provided both the targets and ammunition to become proficient with said equipment.
I can't point to any specific time or event, but I glad to know I am in good company.
Have you been talking to my neighbors?
Watching, John Wayne movies when I was young. The good guy always wins. vanquishes evil.
Then to ROTC in High School, and on to the Army. Eight years in the Army in 3 different MOS's I learned a lot a bout human nature, it's helped me through the rest of my live so far.,
