USPS just added a $15.00 surcharge to any package over 30" long mailed priority which is how I ship most everything. So, my long guns will be going UPS.

I'd watch for UPS fuel surcharges. During the big fuel runup in the mid 2000's, UPS had at least two surcharges.
shipping has killed a lot of auctions in my opinion especially smaller ( less expensive ) items who wants to pay 10 or 20 even 50.00 for a item then pay close to 20.00 to ship it . the good deal went out the window
add in company's like amazon doing free shipping for even 20.00 items. and people think every one should do free shipping also
sadly even with guns paying shipping and transfer fees , plus tax sure does not help finding a great deal . and no way is shipping going to come back down .
Bidenflation.
Talked to my UPS delivery gal who told me since the price of gas has doubled ...... you know the rest.
GOOD GOSH, geez, that could run into a 50 dollar shipping charge real easy. Thanks for the heads up cause I was going to list a couple items,????? That is going to hurt. Is this Putin doings also?
I looked it up and over 22" to 30" is $4.00 more. WTH.
Yup. I just mailed a golf club via Priority Mail (a 50" box but only three pounds) and it was well over $30.
Is this Putin doings also?
NO this is 100% Biden and the rest of the commies!
I haven't seen these fees yet, but we have a person from Fed Ex coming Thursday who will most likely be our account manager from this point forward. On the postal system it doesn't ask for the dimensions unless you click some of the boxes....if you "choose your own" box and just have the weight it never asks for the measurements of the box. So, I haven't seen this $15 surcharge on any of our boxes yet. I think we're done with the postal service as far as long guns go. They have cost us over $3000 in damages in the past two years and we are still fighting to get the claims paid (not giving up on that no matter how long it takes.)
Ups started sur couple weeks ago
Well, just mailed a long gun for my FFL and we didn't know about the surcharge until Rickie's post. He gave me $40. bucks and said keep the change, ROTFLMAO, the change cost me another dollar. $26 .00 BEFORE THE SURCHARGE, $41.00 after. Yea, the whole USA system that has anything to do with the government is totally, Bidened.
Everything is Bidened.
But hey..........got a new refrigerator delivered from Amazon for free...........just now.
Most likely USPS doesn't want the larger parcels anymore. They jam up the system in many ways. Extra time for processing, transport delivery. They add liability for condition and theft. Then at the point of delivery there's never ending issues. It's something they should have done 15 years ago.
USPS is underwater in every way possible...........mail delivery should be privatized..........ala the Amazon model. Heck......FedEx, DHL, and UPS all do better than USPS.
UPS has been upcharging for boxes over 48 inches for a few years.
Amazon just announced that their shipping fees will increase.
Joe
I just shipped an 8"x8"x8" box that weighed maybe three pounds UPS Ground. Insured for $600. Total cost was $48!!
