another reason for not going cashless. tried to do some online banking with the largest bank on the coast and get a message "site down for scheduled maintenance" now who would take a bank site down at 1145 on a Sunday morning. people getting out of church and stopping by the grocery for sunday dinner. others needing a little something for snacks to watch the talladega race. bad time for "scheduled maint"

But it would be back up before they go for lunch.
Our destiny no way around it
Big brother wants complete controll of any money transactions they want to make sure every possible lost penny in taxes goes to the government
There will come a day all paper and coins will have to turned in for a credit in the virtual banking process people will have xx days to do so or it will become zero value and illegal to use it
It will be possibly tied to our ss card and follows you from birth to grave
The Amish will just have to fall in line no exemptions
still not up. dont think this is scheduled maint. unless it went wrong.
The banks are awash with money from the stimulus packages. Maintenance is done on Sundays so they don't inconvenience their real cash cows, the corporations. The inconvenienced little guys like you and me don't matter to them. This is the same reason Chase bank only gives .01% on savings accounts. Bob
Chase isn't the only bank with .01% savings. The bank I have been using for over 30 years, which has a local brick and mortar building is giving out the same!
I have never done any online banking but have been shopping for a place that offers the best interest rates locally. Found a credit union that was but they make you jump through so many hurtles that I don't care to hassle with. I have concluded that the savings account system is just a stagnant place to store a very small amount of money for emergencies.
My credit union pays 0.05%..........but then.....I've railed about this before. It's a sad situation, to say the least.
I like the online banking. I can deposit checks with my phone. I don't have to sit in the lines any longer at the drive throughs or go inside. I don't have to fool around with addressing envelopes and writing chicks to mail off my bills. It's done automatically I don't even have to keep up with them other than just to read my statement online to check that everything's in balance. My bank regions bank has never been down since I've been using it. If I'm out somewhere on a Sunday and I need something I just use my debit card.
Cash is not going to be around much longer. Just look around and tell me it is. Nobody but us seniors carry any cash and we are fading out. 1000% sure I am right.
It won't make any difference unless someone is doing something illegal the government knows how much money you got in your pocket anyway. And besides that if they are doing something legal and they start spending more money than they can show that they earn they're going to catch them anyway.
Uhmm, no they don't know in my pocket because none of it has ever been in a bank other than in my stash that started 20 years ago. My name is Mike Smith, rr#1 Hooterville, NC. if they want to check.
Last week I was out and about a couple of different places. Wallyworld for some groceries and the card readers were not working correctly. Folks loosing their minds over it. I just did the self check out and paid cash. Headed over to a farm supply store for some items the next day....Card readers were down...so paid cash.
The next day I headed to another nearby town to find some shoes......AND their system was down....
Paid cash and moved on....
No way...........barter will always exist. Those who have prepared will always be able to barter. F&^k big brother
I was looking into Government "I" bonds that pay higher amounts when inflation is high. I read that the interest raise come May 1st will be over 9%.
Problem is, you have to do everything online. No way to just buy the bonds somewhere. All is paperless with total trust in electronics. When the power grids shut down so does your savings.
A man without cash/coin in reserve is foolish and becomes a slave to the powers of certain people and electronics.
"Never do wrong to make a friend----or to keep one".....Robert E. Lee
I tend to agree it will always be some how
but I think the know or see something then tell some thing will keep getting a bigger part of our life also
rewards for turning in friends or family or like NK your punished for not telling
I do not see it happening in what few years I have left but grand kids life will be possible
Go pay cash for a new house and expensive car and see what happens. Unless you've got a company or a job showing you are making more than you spent you'll find out how they do it. If it's been twenty years or fifty years they know how much money you made by your tax returns. You can't hide it unless you can laundry it.
If I went cashless the next day the first EMP would hit.
uHMMM, no I don't do that cause I don't have hundreds of thousands. BUT at an auction, gunshop ect. when something turns up like a buddy wanting to sell me something firearm related I pay cash and they all like cash. I will take care of myself and not post it on facebook , tweat , instagram, or tiktok but I seem to have managed ok in Hootersville just fine. Mike, Smith Hootersville, N.C.
The use of cash in the future is going to steadily decline. There will be some limited use of cash but by far the majority of transactions will be electronic, it is about that way now. I have seen places now that refuse to take cash. I don't care for this but things change. It is the future and it is coming fast.
More and more gas stations, restaurants, and even grocery stores around here are charging 3% for using credit or debit. That can really mount up. If the masses catch on, that'll work against going cashless. I have to confess, it took me a time or two to figure out why my purchase seemed a little high.
All you have to do is eliminate the informers.....
If you know the scum.......................and it comes down to it...........pre-emptively
If you ask me, there is nothing cooler looking than a large suitcase full of stacked cash.
Oh, and large bills too! 😁
Like this?
If you think we are ever going to be completely cashless, I invite you to try to tip the dancer by sliding your card thru her G string.
Be sure to tell the bouncers you were just going cashless.
😊
No.....no.....no.......
you run the card through her butt crack. That's where the card reader is.
