Does anyone think that TWITTER could be worth 44 Billion Dollars??!!
I just don't see it and cannot even imagine anything like this could sell for such a sum. How can Musk make that money back from such a purchase? Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this? It would be nice to be able to wrap my head around this where I could find some kind of sense.

He said that he has no intention of making his money back. He said he did that so people would have a platform to voice their ideas/thoughts/concerns. Even people who you don't agree with, or don't agree with you.. Kudos to Elon Musk, even though I have never been on this twitter, and have no intention of going there.
Quote from Mr. Musk:
"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," said Mr. Musk. "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it."
Someone thought that Gun Broker was worth a quarter billion dollars...despite GB not owning or controlling so much as a single gun.
I say let people spend their money how they want to.
I have never been on Twitter either and also have no plans to ever go there. Like it or not though the entire world seems to be connected and influenced by what is on there. I was reading a liberal article that warned that Musk would now restrict or ban certain political parties from the platform, thereby influencing elections. Hmmm... Sounds like what the libs have been doing all along. If Musk truly makes it a fair and open platform, I am all for it. The only drawback will be the folks, and there are a lot of them, that will believe anything that is tweeted regardless of its accuracy or source. I come from another generation that is skeptical enough to never accept something at face value but today's tweeters are either to gullible or to lazy to verify anything. Social media had the opportunity to become a real boon to society but instead has just become another political tool full of lies and propaganda. Bob
Well . . . you know with inflation and everything - a dollar just isn't worth as much as it used to be.
from what i understand he has 262 Billion net worth. if twitter has absolutely zero value he is not exactly destitute.
There is a lot of money made on platforms like twitter by influencing people in ways they are too ignorant to understand... I'm sure Elon will not miss the money and chances are he will make more than what he spends... his money, his choice.
He is RICH and doesn't care.
PS, he spent MORE than 44 billion in Twitter, he had already spent several billion in his 9% share buy, prob has 50 billion total invested.
PSS.....if he can take control and let people actually have FREE speech, then money well spent!
I feel its a fair price to get mean tweets back
Mean tweets says he ain't coming back, but we shall see.
Now some one will create a new platform aside twitttter
