I love that series, and have seen every one and also, all of the new ones.
, Unfortunately, I do not have M or even know what channel that is.
The older ones are on youtube for free.
Apes fan here also.
A lot of good performers in that series. Probably Roddy McDowall's and Kim Novak's best performances. I've seen them all but not for a while. Bob
M! is a broadcast channel called Movies!
And it is free TV
Took my son to one a few years back, think he was like 11 or so at the time. Asked what he thought as we were walking out, he told me he really thought Caesar was good leader and glad he won. I mentioned that if Caesar won it meant the humans like us lost. He didn't really have a comeback.
The modern apes sequels really make the humans out to be the bad guys, and given the unlikely scenario presented it probably would be somewhat accurate.
The scene where Charlton Heston sees the Statue Of Liberty destroyed should be an eye opener for all of us with what is happening to our country today. "They finally did it!"
😁
great movies as a kid! back then
Kim Novak's best performance?
What about STELLA!!!
Just imagine, in 1952 when she was starring in Streetcar, her agent tells her, "Kim in 1968 you will star in a big movie with Charlton Heston. That's the good news.
The bad news, you will be dressed as an ape."
Whoops! I meant Kim Hunter not Novak. Age does that to a person, and I missed my nap yesterday as well.😣 Bob
I was going to correct you Bob but seeing a recent picture of Kim Novak with all of her plastic surgery.......I kind of thought she just about hit the mark on the ape mask!
The carbine rifles used by the apes always reminded me of a Hi-Point !!!
thats what I allways called them at the gun shows.........planet of apes guns
We watched the first one at the drive in it was a neat Old movie I have watched a few since then and learned not to think too much about how they had guns and ammo and leather clothing for starters but entertaining and different
Looking back it was not in dad's kind of movies as not western lol
But the drive in was a cheap distraction and a way to keep us kids in a smacking distance and occupied that we we were all 11 years old for ever kids got in half fare we never got to go to the consesion stand on to to p if we had too
Mom would bring a bag of pop corn and a gallon of water for us kids and a thermos of coffee for her and dad living on thecheap was a way of life
Never mind. I thought the story was going to be about something else bad going on in Atlanta.
I remember when Atlanta was a typical nice city. Then Jimmy Carter became our president😫
