    Welcome back sir...

Well, in your absence we first solved all the worlds problems. Then a half dozen of us hit Powerball wins and shared equally with the "active" members. Other than that, you haven't missed anything.😁

    Welcome back. Bob

Sorry you missed the free Weatherby rifle and unlimited ammo giveaways. Everybody who got one has signed a nondisclosure agreement, though. So don't ask.

Except for that and the cumbersome sign-in changes, nothing much happened. Feel free to pick up where you left off.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Standards are pretty high here these days. Are 4 star members still allowed to correspond with 2 star members? We may be violating one of the new rules? I'll have to check the rule book again and get back with you later. 😉

Damned if I can remember why I even left now. Went quite a while without a computer at all, and the hard drive on my newest desktop cooked off a couple weeks back, so I got the ol' potato working again, and viola, it's 2015 all over again. Oof.🤣

FYI, NeoBlackdog relocated to the Flathead about a year ago, and Toad67 just bought a place down your way.

Does your dad still have that 1693? Knew a guy that had one of those in a log truck. Fed it propane, and that monster would haul logs up over a 4%-5% grade as fast as she'd go across the flats. The fella decided to "upgrade" to a 3406, and get rid of that old dinosaur engine. The first hill he came to with the 3406, and cracked the propane bottle, broke the crankshaft.

Glad you're back, you were missed. How you doing? Still working on old jeeps?

Welcome back. Glad to see ya. How's it been?

As a matter of fact, I finished one up late last year for a buddy of mine, a '47 CJ2A. It's rough but drivable, which is exactly what he wanted. It's amusing watching him drive it, too. At 6'5", sitting on that bench seat, he looks like a rerun of "Harry and the Hendersons".🤣

I wouldn't mind getting another for myself, but the prices have gone above and beyond what I care to spend. Since I sold my 3A, it seems like they've pretty much doubled.

As far as how I'm doing, well, having avoided them as much as possible, I finally went to a doctor to get my back pain checked out, last August.

Turns out that falling off a self-loader covered in hydraulic fluid isn't a smart move, nor climbing up one to begin with.

It all makes sense now, as far as what's going on, and I wish I'd done it a lot sooner. Scoliosis (had that for years and didn't know), degenerative disc disease, arthritis between my shoulders, and in my lower back. Guess I'm done tossing around engine blocks for fun! On top of that, my blood pressure was 180/110. It's down a lot closer to normal now. The doctor said that stuff doesn't usually kick off until a person hits 60 or older, and I was 41. Happy to say that I'm starting to feel somewhat human again, and I'm not nearly as bullheaded as I used to be.

To be honest, we haven't touched that 1693 in a two or three years now. Dad's health hasn't been the best, and I don't think we'll ever get to it in the future. I'll say that in all the videos I've watched, it looks like it was a hell of an engine, too. It's in an old cabover, with a single rear end. I don't recall what brand the rear is, but if memory serves me, it was rated around 50,000lbs, though. The center section is massive.

FWIW, once I find my camera again, I'll take some pics of a couple firearms I picked up in the last year or so. Let's just say that my love affair with the .35 Whelen was rekindled, and the shotgun isn't exactly something you'll see in the field swinging for pheasants.

With respect sir, you took a wrong turn somewhere if you found yourself in Albuquerque.

I won't even drive through there if I can route around it.
