Yeah, Old Speedy Gonzalez, err... I mean Wright got his comment in 30 seconds before I tried to say something similar. Bob

So post your long winded response here. I'm sure Mark won't mind 😊. I'm curious if the auction was for one of those rare gas trap M1 Abrams!

  • AlpineAlpine Member Posts: 15,092 ✭✭✭✭

I hope Ricci didn't get the auction canceled. I was hoping to pick one of those up next week!

Cut and paste quote from Ask the Experts thread

    keep1no

"Now lets get to the real question which is why do people that participate on forums act like dickbags. Firstly, I didn't ask "who advises me to purchase this rifle," so why do you think I would care about what you advise. I would think this, of all forums, would be a place where I could get answers to a very specific question which was, can anyone tell anything about this gun, as opposed to someone's opinion as to whether or not I "qualified" to purchase it. If you don't have anything informative then why waste your time posting anything other than to show everyone how much of a * you can be."

    πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ I don't see a long tenure on the forums for keep1no

I dunno...........but calling the resident Garand expert on this forum a * and an * might not have been the best decision ever for a new guy.

BTW....nice way to close the thread Ricci.

You'll just have to use your imagination but I certainly didn't call him a fruitcake. I happen to like fruitcake, especially the rum soaked ones and wouldn't compare them with the bombastic, bellicose blathering of that ignorant poster. Bob

Bob, that was a very eloquent reply, my reply would have contained several four letter words.

Some people do not react well when an error is pointed out. Sadly, this gentleman doubled down on his mistake and lashed out.

Hopefully he will learn from this experience, and at some point in his life will enjoy the feel of an M1 Garand sending a a few M2 ball projectiles downrange.

Don you may be hopeful, but I can picture him trying to put that M2 ball in the carbine he wants to buy. He'll probably need a bigger hammer!. Bob

I bet he buys the gun.

Most folks knew what he met. Although he got a little defensive on his actions.

  • bullshotbullshot Member Posts: 14,683 ✭✭✭✭

So what happens if I push that there big ole button?

I seen that one coming a mile away,

Just don't insult the Garand Guru, especially when he has a biggg hammer and locks with no keys.

In Ricci's defense the guy was a fruit cake.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

I tried to help him by advising him not to bid on a firearm he does not understand, and which he has confused with a totally different firearm.

I've been called much worse names. What got him tossed was his attitude towards all those those who tried to help or advise him.

I looked at the potential benefits of keeping him in the forums. I couldn't see any reason to keep him around, so off he went to...

    He had to go!

Love your picture in the last post. Poor Dano, he will be the brunt of many jokes (bans) to come!

No clue what a gas trap was.. thanks for posting that. Didn't even know they made them. About like the MID I purchased around the corner from the house that was advertised in a state trader paper. Seller said he got it thru some kind of lottery. It came with a scope and mount of some kind that was never put on the gun. I went and bought it not really knowing the valuation or rarity He sold it cheap like under 1k. I done some research and got extra paperwork from somewhere down south.. I had the other paperwork for it verifying it was a real M1D. Ended up listing it on GB and when the smoke cleared from the intense bidding I made around 4k on it . One of the better deals I have done on GB. And whomever done the disagree on my above post...Thanks... πŸ˜ƒ

Well you are welcome!, I didn't agree with your assessment of the situation or your assumption of "Most folks knew what he met."

Should have said SOME folks... Anywho thanks again.

  • mike55mike55 Member Posts: 3,053 ✭✭✭✭

He talked about an M1 garand but posted pics of a carbine. Most people were confused. Personally, I'm still not sure which gun was actually for sale. I assume the carbine, unless he tooks pics from somewhere other than the auction!

I saw the post yesterday. I did get a good laugh out of it.

That is curious: I wonder if he doesn't know the difference between the rifle and the carbine (despite his insistence to the contrary!) or he posted the wrong pictures (twice!). With his attitude problems, we will never know.

That would be an argument on what kind of molasses is the best? With Pabst beer and pickled sardines in mustard or ketchup? Pretty extreme it is.
