Arthritis has robbed me of considerable strength in my left hand . Anyone use a slide racker on a m& p shield 45 . If so recommendations on brand ?

Apparently I am the only one here with any hand strength problems, lol.
You are not alone.
In my case I'm able to wrap my left hand directly over the top of the slide to rack. Not knowing what strength level you're at - maybe this won't work for you. Pistols with smaller slides present a problem. Things like pocket pistols (think Ruger LCP) or even my full size EAA Witness have such low profile slides there's not much to grab onto.
I used to have a model 41 S&W - with that design you could only pull straight back from the rear of the pistol. It was nearly impossible for me and I ended up selling it.
i have several fingers that dont work anymore and have a lot of problems with semi auto slides. i just didnt realize there was an apparent solution.
Dang you guys are getting old..............🙄
I have RO’d a few USPSA matches with an older gentleman who uses this set up.
No you are not alone, but Joes video maybe be able to help, although his voice isn't anything like i expected...🤣
mokawk600, What do you mean "getting"! It started years ago when I was having trouble racking my Kel Tec P32. I finally gave it to a friend and went to my Kel Tec PF9. Being larger overall I had a better grip on the slide. That worked for a while but finally sold that last year and bought a S&W M&P Easy Slide. Recoil is a bit more but it's a good tradeoff for me.
that video is all well and good assuming you can grip the slide with your weak hand. that is my problem, i cannot grip with my left hand, it will no longer close down. you know that thing that is suppose to make you go blind, well i can see pretty well but my hands dont work so well anymore. go figure.
The TacRack is an option i am looking at. I have no problem with any of my other semiautomatic guns . The shield has the toughest spring of anything I own .
TacRack does work. I tried one. It would be OK for going to the range but for everyday carry not too practical.
Hey jeff..........I'm getting up there too...........but good Lord, I can still rack a slide. If'n I can't anymore...........I might go to a revolver.
that's what I'm starting to do the bottom feeders don't come out of the safe much anymore
Notice the hammer back on the video. All my a semi's rack with about 1/3 the effort if hammer is back.
Load it and leave it(loaded that is).
