Yup! Got me a good ol' used Stihl saw! It's an oldie, but one of the best they ever made: the 038 Magnum II.
Damn, I love having a good saw again.

Love that model. Amazing torque! Congrats on the new addition.
I would love to see saw
I was thinking a county orange jump suit.
I don’t even own a lawn mower.
Know why folks from TN wear blaze orange?
Work for DOT during the week, root for Vols on Saturday, and hunt on Sunday.
Back to saws . I have used Sthil saws for years, 31, 34, 36, 460 magnums and an oldie 75.
Even a battery powered one, cat's meow for small jobs around the farm and runs a good while on one charge.
They are hard to beat.
Sweet! I have one of those in a box somewhere around here. It is supposed to be good, but somebody took some of the outer parts(top cover, starter, etc) off and lost them. I just haven't come across a donor to scalp for parts yet. My running saws are 044, and 064.
I love orange too but mine says Husqvarna on it! I also have a small Stihl I always carried on trips in the Bronco.
I ran all three in the FS. The 064 was a great saw for sure. I think it bested the 038 in the power to weight ratio by a bit. The 044 definitely had more power but felt more awkward and even if it wasn't heavier (I think it was) it felt heavier to run. The 038 was my go to. We didn't have any 064s on my crew or it probably would have been.
We did have the 028s and 036s. I didn't care for those at all.

Let's try to keep the thread free from such profanity.

You can't have to much orange.
I hate to admit it but I will confess that I have recently gone to a battery powered chainsaw. Recently bought a 40 volt Greenworks 12" saw to use for taking down small trees and downed stuff around my 6 acre property. I have a Poulin Pro gas saw that my old back just can't take the strain of the pull cord any longer.
So far, that little electric has impressed me for what its capabilities have proven. Battery life is very good and it gets everything done that I needed to do.
Electric motors are very torque-y so they should perform fairly well. I just love a 2 stroke!

Yes, it is sorta a hobby. I buy and sell chainsaws often. I bought three 044 parts saws a few days ago and have the crankcases split currently in rebuild mode, also picked up a MS261 and a 029 super that needs repaired. I work on a couple tree services saws and a few customers when I find time. I have owned hundreds of saws through the years, but never an 038. I will pick one up when I run into the right deal. I have had several 028s as they are an older saw, but built like a tank.
Here are 10 046/MS460 I recently refurbished.....

Orange kitty approves.
Color coordinating your cat and your chainsaws?? That's just wrong!! 😂
I have an 056, bought new in 82 or 83, unbelievably with all the firewood it’s felled and bucked up, the only maintenance to the saw itself is a new fuel tank and lines a few years back.
Been a great easy starting saw, it just feels heavier now than it did 30 years ago 🤠
Mule
The kitty's name is STIHL, he is orange on top and white on the bottom.
Now that is a good name for a cat.

from the looks of that belly, he don't run much either............
I have an orange lawn blower and a new orange weed eater. It's a FS38. Is 38 a good number of FS to have???
I thought this was going to be about a new job working the highway department.
He Dog,I thought the same thing only in Tennessee.
They wear blaze orange a lot, work for dot through the week, root for Vol's on Saturday, and hunt on Sunday.
When I saw the thread title, the mental picture was of an orange AMC Gremlin or Matador.
After at least 4 years of hearing the Lib's calling our last President "Orange Man", I thought the thread title meant you were reinstating your support for Donald.
I thought he had established drinking Fanta Orange Soda
No, Mr. P is actually sane.
