Statues taken down, buildings and roads renamed, school history classes rewritten. and now this: Fort Bragg to be renamed Fort Liberty. Why? Because Fort Bragg was named after a Confederate general.
The political correctness of our current Congress borders on the pathological.

I'm fairly certain 99% of the American public was not aware of this. Changing names will have no impact on the wellbeing of a single citizen. Just an empty feel good measure for those who make the changes without having to actually implement meaningful change.
Last year, our one son worked at a YMCA camp, as a maintenance man.
Many of the cabins had Indian names. The camp owners are based out of Chicago and told the camp manger here to remove the signs about the cabin doors and replace them with the names of trees.
So, our son had to take all those horrible Indian names down. He was very offended. As he is 1/8th. Cherokee and can't "identify" with any tree.
Was one of them renamed "The General Sherman"?
They were named such to be inclusive and welcome those in rebellion back into the fold.
They are being renamed to sow division and stoke the embers of the hatred that once was.

I am shocked none of you have seen or heard of the huge decline in crime and protest and riots looting mob runs on stores assaults ,car thefts random violence and well just general crime since all the statues and names have been changed and torn down as the politicians promised would happen billions spent to kiss the 13% butts
Oh wait news flash sorry My mistake nothing has changed in the crime and gangs and violence only the names have been changed to protect the innocent all BS to the10th degree oh and many friends pockest lined in charge of taking down the offending items
not counting the movies and books banned
"1984". In 2022 life imitating art. hell for a bit we even had a Disinformation Governance Board. democrats are so lazy they just used the "1984" book as their playbook. The democratic party owes George Orwell some cheddar for "borrowing" the plot.
Changing the name will probably cost US tax payers 100s of thousands of dollars too. Another calculated move by our commander in the basement!
@mike55 Spot on. with all the stuff going on right now re-naming a military base because its fashionable in like pole vaulting over mouse turds.
When do we get to the part where we all hold hands and sing *-bi-yah?
It's just a matter of time before the camp instead of being the YMCA, it will just be the "Age indifferent, gender neutral, faith irrelevant, association".
The real reason is because their spell checkers keep automatically changing the spelling of the name and they can't figure out how to stop that from happening.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Pinshooter-Might that be Camp Hastings?
I don't feel threatened or insulted by the words 'whitewash/ whiteout/whiteboard'. If 'other' skintone phokes are so touchy about their personal characteristics, they're free to congregate with others more like themselves and leave me the heck alone.
