wife saw a video of Red Lodge MT this morning and they were experiencing a significant flash flood.
There’s a member here that was making a trip to the Park shortly or maybe even now, this will definitely limit the amount of the Park to viewing.

...I sure hope Yogi & Boo-Boo are safe...
Just wow!
I was planning on going up there in July. May have to reconsider.
hmmmm we are planning to make the Cody/Winchecter gun show just after the 4th. that's just east of the park
I have been up there many times, from far away Georgia, and N. Carolina. I love Yellowstone. Has it ever flooded out before?
Allen, I’ve seen some pretty high water during run off, but don’t think they ever experienced anything of this magnitude.
watch the video of the road down stream of Gardiner, I’ll bet the are similar spots over in the Lamar valley towards Cooke city. Going to be a big impact on tourism for several small towns that depend on a few months of income to make their year.

It's a mess. Flooding and roads washed out all around me. Gallatin county,Madison,Park, YNP, Big Sky,,,,,
That kid austin20 is suppose to be up this way on vacation now. Wonder if he hit YNP first and now in South Dakota or visa versa??
I think he was flying in Bozeman and driving from there. Not sure the dates, but if he’s there he will have an interesting tale to tell.
l saw a video and it appears that Gardiner will be cut off from Livingston for and extended period by multiple washouts in the road.

Just heard from my cousin who lives in Big Timber Montana. His home and farm are under 3 feet of water!😰

what a mess
"Scientists say climate change is responsible for more intense and more frequent extreme events such as storms, droughts, floods and wildfires, though single weather events usually cannot be directly linked to climate change without extensive study."
2-1/2to 4 inches of rain doesn't sound like a lot, but with the snow melt, that water has to go somewhere.
Friend left Sunday for Ennis, was in Billings last evening said they were evacuatong folks them.
Worked the Red Cross shelter in Bridger the other night, and then a shelter in Fromberg. The flood water that washed into Red Lodge was Rock Creek. The national guard air lifted 75 tourists into Red Lodge that were stranded in Yellowstone, and then taken to the airport.
The Clark's Fork flood level is 9 feet, and was expected to crest yesterday at 12 feet, and the Yellowstone is looking pretty wide in most places. I've been in this area 18 years, and have never seen the Yellowstone running at the capacity it is right now. YNP is a place to stay away from right now as the only entrance is West Yellowstone. We had people coming in from Powell Wyo. with donations, so most interstates are open.
I wonder what this will do to the show! Don
What is up with the Governor?
Hauled a load of horses up to a ranch in the Crazy mountains north of Big Timber MT yesterday.
Followed and crossed the Madison in the canyon West of Bozeman and it was pretty muddy and higher than I have ever seen that section. I crossed Yellowstone river at Livingston and Big Timber, it has receded quite a bit but is still very angry and turbid.
On my return I went south up the Gallatin from Bozeman to West Yellowstone, it was evident that it had been pretty high, but level looked to be receding rapidly and was murky , saw 60+ people fishing .
Driving this stretch was great for this time of year. I usually avoid it because of all the traffic going to West Yellowstone to access the Park through the West gate. Saw lots of RV’s and campers filling about every camp ground I passed. I think the RV’ers are still in a quandary of what to do to try and salvage their YNP vacation plans.
If I would have hauled the load on Tuesday, I would have had to take an alternate and much longer route as the bridge at Big Timber was closed because high water was across the road on the north side, so the river had significant height, but had receded 5 or 6 feet by the time I was there.
