We have found that boiling corn is a waste of time and flavor. We like the bi-color corn the best. Buy it in the shuck with dark colored silks sticking the end. Microwave the entire thing for 4 minutes per ear. Pull the shucks back - grab the dark colored area of the silks and pull. Almost all of the silks will be pulled off. Butter - salt - pepper - whatever - eat while hot - enjoy.

We discovered that a few years ago....sure saves on time and cooks it perfectly !!
I chop off all of the handle end and a tiny bit more. Then into the MW for around 1.5 min, more/less. Take out and squeeze toward the cut end and the ear slides out, nice and clean. Don't be dumb like me and burn hand every time.
I like to soak a few ears in water for a short time and then cook it on the grill in the husks. Takes a bit longer than the microwave but the extra flavor it picks up is well worth it!

We've been doing nothing else but microwaving our corn for quite a while now. It's great! We do ours shucked and wrapped in saran wrap. Only time we cook it before shucking is when we put it on the grille. We seldom do that because the micro is so simple, and delicious!

Have any of you tried the Elote seasoning? Its called everything but the Elote and its sold at Trader Joes and Walmart. It is the bomb.
I learned about that a few years ago papernicker and it works like a charm.
I love all kinds of things that Larry does not....which means we do not eat these things unless I feel like seeing a Broadway production of "I don't like this" starring Larry. Corn is one of these things.

Caution with shuck left on there could be some hidden protein.🤔
Where I worked, we had access to a steam oven. On the evening shift, guys would bring in bushel baskets of sweet corn.
We ate good.
I had a single ear of corn in the vegetable drawer of my fridge that I forgot about. It sat there for at least 2 weeks and last night when found I was tempted to throw it out to the wild life around my place.
I then remembered this post and put that old ear into the microwave. Figured if I didn't find it tasty, I could still feed some wildlife. To my surprise, it was still quite edible, sweet, moist, (with lots of melted butter) and GONE!! Sorry critters! 😋
If you are near one - they have a sale through Monday - 6 ears for $2.00 ---- IF - IF - IF - IF - they have any left. We managed to find 6 - but there was only 2-or-3 scroungy ones left.

My wife is a 'military brat' born in Fort Sam Houston - her mother and father were from Louisiana - but also had relatives in Texas. We went to visit her relatives in 1968 after we were married in December 1967. Her Uncle Oscar liked strong coffee and chicory and his home-made Creole Seasoning. It goes well with most things - especially corn-on-the-cob.
Uncle Oscar's Creole Seasoning:
2 tablespoons paprika
1-2 tablespoons whole black peppercorns
1 tablespoon sea salt
2 tablespoons garlic powder / dried minced garlic is better
2 tablespoons onion powder / dried minced onion is better
1 or more tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes - to your taste
1 tablespoon thyme
1 tablespoon oregano
1/2 tablespoon basil
1/2 tablespoon dill weed / or dill seed - whichever you like
Put into a small electric grinder - turn into a fine powder - put into a capped shaker.
It will 'clump' in Florida humidity - but breaks up easily if shaken.
