I never thought I would be happy to pay 4.14 for gas....

4.14 at a little station in town. The clerk said they are trying to undersell everyone and have been dropping their prices a few cents everyday. I was happy about it until I remember filling up for under 1.60 not too long ago.
What is the going rate in your neck of the woods ?

We're $4.99ish (a bit south of Seattle), but I usually have at least $.60/gallon in loyalty rewards. Still, anything over $4.00 sucks when the truck needs a fill up.
I felt the same way the other day when I paid $4.24 a gallon.
Filled up the truck... 3.86
While I was in town today I saw one station @ $4.76. Just my luck, I filled the Acadia and 2 five gallon cans for the mowers for $4.99/gal last week. Bob
When I came back from Diego-Garcia in 1973,I couldn't believe Amaco premium had gone up to 49 cents a gallon.
I will NEVER be happy to pay 4.14 a gallon....ever!
Joe(and his pose) is quickly killing this country
When I was a sprout Dad was licensed to tap the natural gas lines in the area for "drip gas". Low octane stuff that "dripped" out of steel gas pipes laid on the surface and would clog up the network unless removed.
He'd mix it half and half with premium (at 22 cents/gallon!) and our cars ran just fine. Tractors did fine on straight drip.
19.9 cents/gal when I was in High School
$4.80
Last time I paid $4.00 for gas in California has to be 20 years ago. $6.40 these days.
Save 4 cents and you feel like you are getting away with something. I paid $017.9 for years in high school, then it jumped to 19.9.
$3.85 is the cheapest around where I live. The average is about $4.25 a gallon.
When I started driving in 1975 gas was around 45 cents a gallon.
I remember those prices too….the first price jumps I remember were in my college days. Guess who was President…..Jimmy Carter. That was the year gas went over a buck. I remember seeing a 1 taped to the pump next to the price per gallon sign until they started changing out signage and pumps to accommodate it.
From my sometimes forgetful memories, the price of gas and the price of cigarettes have run a parallel increase over the years.
My mom used to send me down to the corner gas station with a dollar to buy her 3 packs of Winstons. With the change I got back I was allowed to buy a candy bar and a bottle of pop!
P.S. I never needed a note to buy her smokes!
$3.95 in Austin TX today.
Wonder what price of fossil fuels/groceries would be if Trump was running the show??????
A LOT LESS!!
About $4.20 a gallon here but with my grocery loyalty card could get it for $3.90 think I'll hold out a little longer still got three quarters of a tank left. Twice coming home from the UP last Monday the wife's low gas light on the dash board came on. The first time we were still about 175 mile from home. We stopped at a gas station I told here to put 7 gallons in because I know she's cheap when it comes to gas. The light came on a second time when we were about 15 miles from home I told here to keep going. The next day she put 4 gallons in it.😀😀
Brandon is sucking you into his plan. Around $4 and people think it's now a bargain and get people thinking about EV's. (having to choose between eating and walking to work or buying gas and doing without other things.
Let's see how people feel about their new electricity rates in the next few months.
Mine......the best I can find.....are going up 64% next week. From 8.5 to 13.9 cents per kilowatt-hour.
They're predicting 112 to 114 degrees for us on Tuesday. Whew........!!!!
(Edit: How many $'s will it take to "fill" the average EV in the very near future???)
NO...............
Let's see..............gas at an average of $4.00 per gallon and according to "Pete the Buttmeister" sec. of TRANS.............you can give up that used car that you paid $5000 for in cash..............and go electric for around $50-60 k. Then you don't have to pay for gas. You just have to pay for coal fired electricity. REALLY helping the environment. Not to mention those pesky lithium batteries which are pretty toxic.
Seems reasonable to me.
I wonder if "Pistol Pete buttmonger" powers his vibrator with lithium batteries.
