Those new images taken from the new James Web orbiting telescope are totally out of this world COOL!

I look forward to seeing much more in the future of distant places never before seen by human eyes!

pretty cool alright..........i watched a documentary on PBS the other night documenting the conception...testing and construction through launch of the telescope.

    I seen that also.

Told wife they have detected (seen) a dollar general store with the Webb telescope on a distant planet.

But no windmills, EV's or solar panels detected. Must be some bright people living there and no politics involved in taking care of them people.

Our leaders will be trying to figure out how to send them some help and gov't funded programs.

Cost of around 30 BILLION dollars and several years in the planning. It's taken care of by robots.

Now if they (nasa scientist) would just make a windshield wiper for our vec's will not jump up and down and chatter across the glass after 3 months and that will last longer than 1 year and not cost over $25. Cannot buy just a wiper refill now days, have to buy a complete lego set, get out the magnifying glass and try to read the China fine print and maybe call in a rocket scientist to figure out the lego set. Then later discover that lego set is not for this vehicle. Then when you go to buy a replacement lego set windshield wiper blade they have changed the lego design pieces again so back to square one all over again.

I can't fathom the DISTANCE there is out there. I mean BILLIONS of light years away. How do you figure that one out. GEEEZ, there is a lot of things going on in the "beyond."

I'm now using that first view as my computer wallpaper. I have downloaded dozens of Hubble photos fr the same use, and those from Webb promise to be even more amazing.

For those who have not followed this, one of the first photos they published was of a spot of sky the same apparent size as a grain of sand at arm's length. In that tiny, tiny spot, Webb saw not a few, not hundreds, but THOUSANDS of galaxies.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Check out the Green Bank Observatory

Nestled in the West Virginia mountains, astronomers are discovering answers to our most astounding scientific questions.

    The Green Bank Observatory is:

If I recall correctly........Carl Sagen's Cosmos (I still have it somewhere, on VHS) stated that there are more stars, or was that galaxies, in the sky..............than grains of sand on ALL the beaches of the earth.

Boggles the mind, doesn't it............to try to contemplate the infinite??

As far as life elsewhere.........in Carl's Cosmic Year, mankind on earth has only existed for.......a few SECONDS!!!!

In the Great Scheme of things.........we are sooooo infinitesimal......and so fleeting.......

I worked with Sagan at JPL during the Voyager flybys of Jupiter. In person, he was a conceited *. But his TV shows were very good.

As it turns out, there are indeed more galaxies than grains of sand. And every one of those galaxies has billions of stars.

I've been wondering ever since the Hubble was first activated: If these new orbiting telescopes can see all this incredible detail so blasted far away, why haven't they ever aimed it at the moon and taken clear, high-definition photos of the US Apollo moon landing spots including footprints, flags, rover tire marks, poop bags, etc?

Pretty sure our Gov't (which hosts NASA) thrives on confusion of the masses. AKA....CONSPIRACY THEORIES!

You can discover the answer yourself. Take any telescope or binoculars and try to focus on your toes.
