Hi, guys

Started to re-watch "Magnum P.I." since there wasn't any new DVDs this week. Saw me a pay phone with actual booth in the show. It's been a while since I saw one let alone a pay phone. When was the last time you saw a Dobermann? For me it's been decades. Too many "something" - doodle these days.

I was wondering which is more valuable today, on the pilot episode the 308 or the rust bucket of a Charger that was spilling gas as it took a turn too fast?

I also saw a can on a revolver in the IRA general at the Robin's nest (episode 2?).

I'm going to see how many people will be recycled in the show. I know the coroner in the pilot will play a Japanese John Wayne in the later season. Also Swearengen I know was in two episodes. As homicidal director (which I just saw) and the Mau Mau uprising flash back thing.

Back in its time I liked watching the show as many did

I always thought just tucking a 1911 in the waistband of your shorts would not be comfortable but it was just a show

For whatever reason, unremembered by me, I never watched Magnum PI back in the day.

I did however enjoy Selleck in his role as Jesse Stone.

Although "High Road To China" was pretty good.........."Quigley Down Under" was his best. JMHO

The only thing I recall from PI was from the show teaser where he's holding that girl surfer with the very nice butt.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I forgot how people held guns back then (the wrist grip hold) and Tom not practicing trigger discipline.

They recycled Asian actors like they were only 6 in Hollywood. I saw "Ski" in the pilot working the gate and later "Mac" in the series (Jeff MacKay).

I'm also hankering to buy Hawaiian shirts again. This happens every time I watch Magnum. But these days I might be mistaken for Boogaloo Boys. I hope there will be new DVDs out this week or I will be looking at Goodwill for Hawaiian shirts. Being so close to the DLI in Monterey there is always a good supply of Hawaiian shirts but not usually in my size. But I did shrink to XL?

"Quigley Down Under" was a good movie. I am glad I never bought the Sharps. Reasons were one the price and the other was wait time. Then my eyes started to go and those Vernier sights would be difficult. I suppose I could try those "period" scopes but I didn't want to look like Doc. Brown in "Back To The Future part 3". Then again maybe looking like Doc. brown at the range ain't all that bad.

I have six or seven "Hawaiian" shirts but seldom wear them. More like BBQ shirts, actually. But isn't it almost mandatory that if you go to Hawaii you have to come home with at least one floral shirt? And then when you get back home and discover that wearing one is almost a joke, you quietly take it to Goodwill.

Grandson's birthday is next week. I think I'll wear one of those shirts to the get-together.

I still have the t-shirt that reminds me of our 1978 honeymoon.
