Have I mentioned lately I’m envious of you retired guys?
I don’t think I have fired a shot in 2022.

Come on man! You're just saving ammo for the zombie invasion.
+1 or 2!
At last count, there are no less than 8 new-to-me guns in the safe that I've not had a chance to shoot. Would sure be nice to know if they even go BANG! Haven't had a full day off since early May.
There are rumblings about an industry wide strike involving my union, so might get a day or so before a federal court orders us back to work. But, I suspect it won't take more than an hour.
To ALL of you hard working folks out there, A BIG THANK YOU!
Just know that YOU are the hand that feeds me these days. I will never bite you! 😁
All of us retired folks have been there
My last nearly full-time job was as a freelance gun writer. Spent at least three full days per week at the range and the rest of the time reloading, compiling data, and pecking away at the word processor.
And then two things happened: I started getting my Air Force pension at age 60, and magazines stopped buying freelance articles. That was 15 years ago, and I haven't fired a shot since. Realized it wasn't recreation any longer, it was work.
When family and friends find out you are retired, they will find plenty for you to do now that you have the time.
I've fired a few shots lately, But I'm saving my ammo and reloading supplies for hard times.
Hopefully hard times starts ending after the next elections.
Same here. Not done much shooting or reloading the past two years. A combination or work and ammo/component avail and pricing. Local pistol match went to one box matches when prices went up, at one time two boxes was pretty common.
All that said I decided to get back into it again as primers are now finally avail and I still have plenty of powder and bullets. Was good to be at the reloading press again and shooting more.
Retirement will be great when that day comes, getting old enough to realize I need to live now too.
I will also comment that I have not shot in quite some time...........I bought a lot when ammo was cheap and consider it an investment. Continue to buy stuff now when I find it "cheap" as in under market value. I'm doing ok.
Funny how busy I seem to be. How did I ever have time to fit in full-time employment? The one thing that is VERY different...what I do at any moment is based on my choice, not someone else's!
Disclaimer: following spousal suggestions still counts as "my choice" because I'm choosing to preserve marital harmony.
The biggest drawback to being retired is how old you are when you finally get here !!!! 😉
Ya'll quitcher bitchin' and get back to work! I just applied for my Social Security and I'm countin' on you boys to keep me in ammo!!
Enjoy your job. Retirement is not that great. You might find yourself bored all the time, with no purpose to your life.
When I retired I was 5 years behind on my projects. That was 20 years ago. Now I am down to being behind only 2 years of my projects, and never a bored moment.
I go hide in the air conditioned spaces when temp rise above 85 degrees and to the heated places when it drops below 60 degrees. Call me a wimp.

Been retired for 10 years now, wondering how I had time to work!
I quit shooting for the enjoyment of it sometime last year when I discovered I didn't have the needed balcony on my house to shoot floating leaves in my pond.........what a bummer 😒

You don't need a balcony, just an imagination! Don
Huh? What?
I'm retired 11 years and still working my tail off. I mean literally-I'm going to have to find a pillow to sit on soon.
I retired 8.5 years ago. Actually, I just quit doing one thing and started doing another. Luckily in my case at a slower pace.

Unfortunately, not for me. I'm fully 'employed' just trying to stay ahead of the 'little stuff' that seems to get ignored when 'the boys' show up to do farm work. I spend all day doing stuff, then Son shows up after 5PM and wants to put in 3-4 hours. That means my day is 12-14 hours total and my butt is dragging.
Sounds like it is time for a business meeting with all the employees !!! It is tough to work with family.
All the heavy work on our place is completed by a neighbor who has farmed the land for our family for over 40 years...his father farmed it before him. I just have the administrative duties and doing the little things that always need to be done on a farm.
retired in 2018, was hoping to golf 4-5 days a week, bypass surgery and a hip replacement have ruined my golf swing and my stamina, 2 days a week is pushing it, as after a day of golf it takes a day to recuperate. same thing with anything strenuous it takes longer to get over it than it did to do it............ taking the granddaughter to cabin tomorrow to put corn in the feeders and put up the game camera's, after wrestling 100 lb bags of corn I know I will be practically worthless come friday, and if someone had told me this 20 years ago I would have laughed in their face and said they were crazy, so I guess it comes down to gambling wether your health will last long enough to enjoy your money
