The Rest of the Story
The Grand Sport Corvette has been delivered. It was hard getting rid of that Corvette but the seller had an employment problem with this Dad whom he worked for. Then he spoke of the little 2 yr old who was running around everywhere when I loaded that car up 15 yrs ago. His Mother was taking him to Pre School yrs later and a car crossed the center line and hit them head on... His 5 yr old son was killed in the collision. So the bottom line.. If you can help someone out in their life and they ask you for something go ahead and do it. He got that car this morning and left me this note and pics...
Hi Gary,
The Grand Sport has arrived. I can’t believe the condition it’s in, it looks like it never left my driveway. I can’t wait to wash it and give it a nice coat of wax. Thank you for taking such good care of the car. It was a real hard day when I had to part with the car but I am so excited to have it back again, you are a true gentleman.

Looks like the new owner is not to bad off, blacktop drive, 100k of vehicles sitting there and a house ,two story with double garage so they can afford it plus you got it back to them without issues. Win, win.
Yes you are. Kudos to you.
I thought your name was Steve?
Not
There have been several incidences where I have purchased antique Kentucky rifles that the seller asked me for "first right of refusal" if and when I decided to sell the piece, I just bought from them.
You did good select-fire! Everyone involved has had much enjoyment with this vehicle.
So you didn't even wash it before returning it?😎
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
It was clean as a pin. He asked me thru and email what wax I use. I responded.. told him it was slick but he could still put another coat of wax on it . Paint is still as nice as my C8. Car was in remarkable condition when I purchased it and the same upon return. BTW I use that ceramic non cheap wax on all my automobiles. His title and goodies that came with the car will be priority delivered Weds. I even sent the original copy of his title and the ebay ad he ran when it was sold along with original photos... plastic on seats, and showroom pics that were taken before it was put on a rollback to be delivered to him. ( with photo)
It didn't have any road grime either from delivery... Car went in an enclosed trailer. I have his address and will have one more delivery Friday night... a couple of large italian pizzas .
Nice touch.
The H/O car I posted in your other thread, the owner that sold it picked us up at the airport when we bought it, bought us lunch, had already had all the belts replaced and oil changed AFTER the sale when he heard we were picking it up in FL and then planning on a 3,500 mile vacation return trip back to OK. Somewhere, I still have his Daytona number and address...
I thought you were going to post a story about Paul Harvey..................man, I miss Paul Harvey............and, the REST of the story.
