I don’t think it is misnamed, where some believe the prisons are for rehabilitation, Russia I believe look a their penal system as more punishment, which I agree with.
I think the perfect room mate for her would be, Colin Kaepernick. One can only dream of some way it would happen.

How many other American citizens are rotting in prisons in different parts of the World. Where is the rage and outcry for them ? People do stupid things and sometimes there are serious consequences.
I feel sorry for ANYONE locked away in a foreign country.....She is in for a hard time as are all the others out there....
I don't feel sorry for Americans who do stupid things in foreign countries.........you are responsible for knowing the laws and norms when you travel abroad..........violate those and suffer at the hands of some rough regimes. An American travelling abroad must always be aware that 90% of the time there is a target on them for simply being American.

Taking hash oil into a foreign country is about as stupid as it gets. Griner knew what she was doing, felt she could get away with it probably because she had in the past.
I will also add that it is not the responsibility of the State Department to negotiate the release of Americans who have done dumb things overseas....................decisions do have consequences............and Mizz Griner is learning that deserved lesson right now.
She is not being unlawfully nor unreasonably detained.........she broke Russian law..............hell...........she would be breaking the law in half the UNITED STATES with hash oil and a vape pen.
Have any of you guys seen a program called "Locked Up Abroad"? It's all about "stupid mistakes" made by people in foreign countries.
