Showing on TCM at 8:00 Eastern.
I'll watch it just to see Slim Pickens - a funny name for a man we all miss very much.
I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Yupp! He was one of the best character actors to ever grace the silver screen;

1st time I watched it I was just a young kid so it really did not strike me as a good movie , many years later and several more viewings a lot of the movie made sense to me , its just plain funny ( dark humor but funny )
I have always enjoyed Peter Sellers dry style of humor. Combined with Slim Pickens, you get a true masterpiece in cinema!
Pickens was also an avid sportsman, especially fond of bird hunting.
I remember seeing him on Wide World of Sports way back when. Of course they had to stop showing actual hunting segments on that show and I don't think I ever watched it after that.
He was also a champion Rodeo competitor and then a Rodeo clown before he took up acting. His cowboy accent/drawl was the real thing and not acting. Bob
I think the show was "The American Sportsman". I liked to watch celebrities hunting and fishing in places I knew I could never afford.
I stand corrected, you're right it was the American Sportsman. I used to watch it every week and see what celeb was hunting or fishing. I remember Bing Crosby and a bunch of others including Mr. Pickens. Then the Bambi generation took over and the hunting and shooting sports segments disappeared. They still did the hiking, canoeing and other outdoor stuff but that just didn't hold my interest as much as the hunting segments. Bob
That movie was a brilliant comedy and Scott's portrayal was so perfectly over the top.
Aaaah yes!
The good ol' days of The American Sportsman with Curt Gowdy.
Among my favorites were when Curt went bird hunting, and perhaps fishing, with Bing Crosby and Bing's hunting pal Phil Harris. Jokes and limericks would abound.
Great times from long ago.......👍
The movie is also currently on Youtube for free.
