There seems to be plenty of ammo again (at least in my neck of the woods) I walked though Bass Pro today and they had all the standard calibers from multiple manufactures and various bullet weights and configurations. That being said, go shoot some drills, do some target practice or sight in your hunting rifles !!!!
I hit the indoor range today as it was raining most of the day... I fired a few different small 9mm pistols and a couple J frame revolvers. Draw and fire drills at 5 and 10 yards. Strong and weak hand drills too. Good morning sharpened up the old skills.
Next week, hunting rifle sight in day at the outdoor range. ......
So get out there and have some fun this weekend!!!!

I wish I could get out there. Our club, the Grand Bland Huntsmans, is holding the Great Lakes sporting clay championship this weekend. Judy will be there both days helping to check in all the shooters and rechecking and entering the scores in the computer. Me, I'm going to be stuck at home cutting brush. Sometimes being responsible sucks!😝 Bob
I shot a lot of bull today!
Possibly Sunday. Going flying tomorrow!
Still hitting the shelves for .22 birdshot. Really scarce?
I do not think I have seen any of that is more than a year....
I may zero the 6.5 Cr with the 'practice reloads' I loaded today. A while back, I got some 6.5mm blem bullets and did a quick and dirty load work-up. Not as accurate as the laser beam Hornady HPBT match loads but suitable for 350 yards on the 8" gong(maybe good enough for the 6" if I'm lucky).
Depends on tomorrow's weather. We're way behind on harvest preparation so that takes precedent if it's not too muddy.
Will be Monday hard part is picking which rifles for sighting in for my Deer hunting trip coming up in a couple weeks right now leaning to the 300 Hamm'r and the 30-06
Skeet, Saturday morning up here in New York on the Vermont border. Leaves are starting to turn.
Hopefully on Sunday I will get a couple new shooters back. One has her own handgun and needs to shoot, the other shot last Sunday first time ever, did damn good
I missed pd season this year........but plan to do better next Summer.
This Winter.........reloading time!!! 😉
Only if the bad guys show up...
I only wish I was shooting this weekend.
Wife and I both tested positive for COVID and I am going stir crazy on only day two of quarantine.
Shot some 9mm and 45acp at steel targets this afternoon. My brass catcher still needs some tweaking.
Sunday afternoon. Just got a scope mount for my K-31, need to get zeroed.
Picked up a Cooper in 20TAC here on GunBroken a few months back. My first WildCat cartg. lts a lazer @4000fps with 32gr VMAX. Even found load data for it in Hornady#9. Flatter shooting than a 22-250 with HALF the recoil. lnside 300yds l simply point and shoot. Get to see them P O P 🤩 Cant wait for June 2023 to roll around. Shot a couple groups Friday. Maybe try again Monday . Searching for the perfect load
'Flatter shooting than a 22-250 with HALF the recoil. '
I didn't know a 22/250 HAD recoil.
Every gun has recoil when shot Buck. 22-250 has enough recoil to lose the sight picture, esp if the target is small and at long range
What fatcat said........
I also put a Vais muzzle brake on my 40XBR 22-250AI......as "self-spotting" was very difficult.....especially at pds over 200 yards, or at high magnification. Wet ground doesn't help either. 🤔
Heck......a close friend even put a Vais brake on his heavy barrel AR-15.
I was fortunate enough to get out Sunday afternoon.... beautiful day working up a load with a new to me powder (Varget) in my deer rifle.
I also switched up the primers I was using.
I got some great groups over a wide accuracy node/range of charge weights. The biggest being 1.20 inches and the smallest a 0.58 inches at 100 yards. Not bad for five shot groups out of a 1942 wartime production 2 Grove Springfield!
Pretty excited, hunting new areas that I have scouted and mapped out. I hope I fill my freezer this fall!
I've been wanting to add a 20 Vartarg to my group of guns.
You’re right but I did have to police my language!
