Seems to be the first big storm of the year. We have lots of Florida members on this forum. I live in the Orlando area and ironically Im in litigation with my insurance company over my roof from a storm last October.
Went to Costco today in Orlando (next to Millenia Mall) and it was a fairly chaotic scene.
Keep an eye on this one & I hope the weather guessers are once again full of hot air.

Stay safe Dave, as well for all our Florida members.
My best guess as an amateur is that it will veer a bit farther west and come ashore in the Ft Walton Beach/Destin area of the panhandle. The whole of the Florida Gulf coast will get hammered.
I'm hoping everyone gets through this with minimal damage.
We are located between Ormond Beach and Palm Coast (east coast), we are hoping for a more westerly track, should it come ashore at Tampa like the European model shows, we will get a direct hit as it crosses the state.
Been through many Florida hurricanes in the last 65 years but now that I'm an old fart they scare me.
If Disney announces it's shutting down then it is time to start worrying in Central Florida
If Jim Cantore shows up in your yard this afternoon, time to pack up and leave.
I believe he actually causes storms to follow him around! "Cantore's here, take cover!!!!"

I hope not. Wish it on no one, but your track would put it in line with Hurricane Michael a few years ago. That one put out our power in central ga for about a week!
Wish it would spin out, but it wont. Seems likely it will make landfall in central west side of Fl, if you believe their models.
The media is out there yelling "Climate Change, Climate Change!" ignoring the fact that hurricanes occur every year, and this year has had fewer than normal, and it's late September so this could easily be the last one. Yes, but "Climate Change! Climate Change!"
Cape Kennedy on Merritt Island is also closed for the next 2 and probably three days.
Looks like it slowed some since Monday's forecast. Looks like it will be here Wednesday by noon. I just looked up Bradenton's elevation - 3 feet!
They just gave us a couple of days off at Disney. I guess they are getting nervous, Me too.
@cbxjeff One of our friends is in Bradenton - Lakewood Ranch on the east side of Rt 75. They all have ponds in these developments. Hope they have the overflow situation covered.
Hope y'all aren't drowning! Prayers from here.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Message from the storm. My girlfriend sent the message in blue this morning to her friend Myra. Myra lives in Venice and the eye missed her by six miles. Myra sent her message back at 4:39 this afternoon.
Hope you guys are doing good.
I've been watching a bunch of live feeds on tiktok. Looks like Bonita Springs is underwater.
My BIL is in Ft Meyers. We have been trying to reach his cell phone since yesterday and no luck. Suspect he has lost power and cell coverage.
