bullshot is in Florida somewhere.
Steve AQH is in northern Fla.
Fishkiller and 46270 (Brownie) lived in Florida. I hope they stay safe.
Prayers for all of you in the storm path.
Thanks
Stay safe you all.
Best wishes from us
Hunker down and be safe
I'm headed from Indy to Sarasota tomorrow via Atlanta. I can't get much info from either the Sarasota airport or Delta and probably won't until I'm in Atlanta an hour or two before my flight out. I don't know whether to cancel the whole trip or just be prepared to possibly stay in Alanta for a couple of days. I hear that it's beautiful this time of year - especially downtown at night.
Bradenton in the winters.
We are just north of Daytona Beach, between Daytona and Palm Coast. Ian's eye will pass just west of us by about 50 miles.
We are hoping that it's just a severe tropical storm (65 mph-70 mph) when it gets to us. The biggest threat to our area will be flooding, our property is relatively high so not too worried about that but we live in a heavily wooded area and the likelihood of downed oaks and such will be high.
Like Ron White said "It's not that the wind is blowing, it's what the wind is blowing".
We have done all we can to get ready, the rest is God's hands.
We pray for all of those folks in the Tampa area (we moved here from Tampa two years ago) and we ask that you all say a little prayer for them also.
Bull
UPDATE: Looks like we are going to dodge the bullet (again) , the latest track has Ian making landfall around the Venice/Sarasota area dropping dramatically in intensity as a result of the effects of wind shear and passing farther to the west of us. Thank God.
We will more than likely not get more than 40 mph winds which is no more than our average summer tropical storms.
We continue to pray for those in the path of the storm's center .......... they will certainly need it.
If you believe in the power of prayer, please ask yours for the folks at ground zero.

Tampa International Airport (TPA) will suspend operations at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 in preparation for Hurricane Ian, which is expected to make landfall this week on Florida's western coast. Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is also closing at 5 p.m.

That's where I'm headed love2shoot. I have family there.
Good to hear bullshot, though "wind shear" doesn't sound comforting to a guy in a plane.
5:00 closing of SRQ sounds good AQH. I'm due to land at 1:00.
I'm watching and thinking of all of you guys......I hope it loses strength and dissipates soon so you can all rest easy.
Ok, another weather guesser change: winds 40-50 gust to 70. Still better that 130 ................
I think we will be fine. Too bad I don't drink, sure would help with the stress level.😉
Thanks to all for the good thoughts.
AQH, how are you doing over there?
Power companies from more than 14 states - plus tree service trucks - plus bunches of bobcats on trailers - plus fuel tankers are staged at the fairgrounds - and some in the furthermost parts of Walmart and Lowes parking lot. I had to explain to a person why the fuel tankers were there - I didn't even bother about the bobcats. Yes - there are people like that here and they walk amongst us - and unfortunately they vote.
Best Regards - AQH
I wish all of you guys prayers and good luck.
I also hope that DeSantis has things REALLY lined up, or the libtards are going to try and crucify him the same way they did Bush after Katrina......................................never mind that NO rejected Bush's offers of fed help prior to the hit.
DeSantis is doing a stellar job as our governor, can hardly wait for him to run for for president.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I’m holding onto my nuts with both hands and everything else can just blow away, Lol. Time to hunker down.
biden better help the folks in Florida not that he'll turn Florida blue. Be interesting if he won't lift a finger.
I can't imagine living somewhere that you have to worry about wind and rain like you get with a hurricane.
I'll just happily sit here on the edge of one of the worlds largest volcanic calderas (Yellowstone) and wait for the 'big one'.
Stay safe down there!
Echoing what all above have said. Prayers that everyone is safe.
Same here.
LOL. It'd hit me too, most likely.
Anyway, hope y'all stay dry and safe.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
