Make sure you have a good grip on that + wire as you hook it up !!! π
Harvest one year and the reel on one combine cracked a brace and left one board flapping. Dad had the oxy/acetylene torch with us but no welding rod.
So he stripped a pieced of barbed wire fence and welded it up. Yep, Country folks will get 'er done!
I touched bumpers and used a chrome door strip on the hot.
"Country Boy's, "definitely get it done.
I am Proud to (unapologetically) call myself one. π
Wellll..... There was this song;
Junior had it right - A Country Boy Can Survive! Bob
a little common sense and thought will get you thru so many bad situations
as for teh battery jumping two things come to mind
my first car the solenoid was going bad some one I think a uncle showed me to use a screwdriver to jump the connections to get it started (being I no cash I had to wait a few days to get a replacement ) but it was spiritic in acting up ,
so kept driving playing the odds
one day on to my GF's house I went . I stopped at a local mom pop shop in the middle of no where , I had to restart the car again I thought no problem
oh crap wait no tools , I found a coat hanger by there trash can .. .. words to the wise do not hold a a bare wire in your hand and arc the connection . I burned the holey crap out of hand smell of burning flesh and being mine made it worse LOL
as for the bumper trick I had a buddy who worked a junk yard show me that trick . pull the cars together touching bumpers as a ground and any wire or meta to use to connect the + and yes by then I knew do not hold the wire in my hand
Sorry to be a killjoy, but unless that's copper barbed wire, it ain't gonna work.
Was wondering the same thing.....
ANY 'wire' isn't going to work. Doesn't anyone understand how an electric welder works?

Ya can't starve us out and ya can't make us run..........Get-R-Done

Do they work without wire?
Guys it is just a Meme. But, I'm thinking some wire conducts electricity better than others Copper, aluminum, brass. But wonβt all metal conduct electricity?
I think the lower the gauge (thicker) the better
Taking a joke seriously seems to be happening all too often these days!
Everyone should know that it is those barbs on the wire that act like electrical antenna's, amplifying the battery current! π
As for the picture: Hold my cold beer while I hold this barb wire to the battery. We may have to tow this one to the barn. (with the wire)
You can take the boy and redneck out of the country but you cannot take the country and redneck out of the boy.
Forest Gump also noticed this:
I can tell you with 100% certainty that steel barbed wire will conduct electricity. It would probably work just fine in a pinch.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Electric charged fences seem to work well
country boys are lucky to live past 30
