What is the big deal about counterfeit money today? Back in the day, when bills and coins were used in nearly all transactions, it mattered. But today "money" is on a Visa or other card. You get paid by direct deposit. You buy things using your credit card. You never saw or touched the money you earned. And, the government spends money that does not exist every single day. So now we are into inflation, big surprise???

Speak for yourself truthful. I still try to buy and sell some things with dead presidents. Yeah, I have "A" credit card and "A" debit card, but to me, cash is king.

I will guess as long as any currency is around counterfeit will be part of it

my two stories skip if you like

one of dads favorite stories was from his dad a WWI vet while in some large city ( I do not recal which one ) on leave my grandfather and a buddy took a cab ride the cabbie went on about all the fake money being passed around and how he would never get taken . just so happen my grandpa had some how ended up with some funny money, so they gave it to the taxi driver just to test him , he took it . I am sure he just passed it on also

about 40 yrs ago working downtown Dayton Oh. I got to know a local gas station owner. one day I was talking to him and he was ticked off to no end , over a week his night shift took in more than a few ( I will wager there buddies ) one dollar bills with a 20 dollar bill corner glued over top the $1. the crook(s) would hand the fake 20.00 with the doctored-up corner showing or mixed in and the clerk would take it in and give them change back

I have always wondered how many country's like China or NK counterfeit US dollars any way

Many yrs ago I was asked to rent to a woman who's husband and her were making money... Not working making money but actually printing their own. Got caught passing 100's at the Food lion. She had a Federal probation officer and he did not play games. Ended up calling him because she brought in the home one of those propane heaters with the heater on top. I warned her not to do it again and when she did... well I didn't ever see her again. House had a perfectly good furnace.

Someone got a fake from a bank. Bills have tiny red and blue silk threads imbedded (sic)

An enterprising individual could pass a fake $20 every day at each of the local fast food places. When the drive through line is long or the walk in traffic is high, those counter people hardly look at the bills. I wouldn't run the scam for more than a few days at a time but it would work for a while.

North Korea has an entire factory dedicated to making counterfeit US currency. It is easier to pass fake bills overseas than here in the USA. With what they steal in bitcoin coupled with the counterfeit currency they have plenty of money for black market oil, computer parts and nuke weapon development. Of course, all these arms while their populace starves and their insane leader gets fatter.

We have had some Movies made locally. Several involved Bank robberies. One involved a bunch of fake money thrown from a car.

I've seen a few $20 and $100 bill floating around, marked for Entertainment Only. Might have gotten away from the props department.

Always watching for these in firearms purchases especially at Gun Shows.

Some folks just don't pay enough attention to what the have in their wallets..

About the only cash I get anymore comes from bottle and can deposits at the grocery store. My walking around money. I can go several months with the same currency in my wallet without spending.

I also rarely cash in the cans. I have a pile out in one of my garages that looks like a great pyramid all bagged up. Just one of my savings accounts that makes about as much interest as the bank pays.

A few years ago maybe still but I think they outlawed it

You could buy huge amounts of fake money from China on line some was getting into circulation go figure . in tiny print it had for movie entrainment use only but was a copy of real money and in a fast paced deal it would get overlooked

Checks in the rental business are not possible. Folks write bad checks all the time. It is a pain to collect on a check in SC. I got my lesson yrs ago when a tenant wrote one and it bounced. She didn't pay me another way and got evicted. I went and had a warrant for her arrest for writing a bad check. 6 or 7 yrs later a deputy stopped her on a tail light that was out. He took her to jail for the warrant, calls me because she now wants to pay me. She got to do 30 days .. I didn't want her money and was not driving 180 mile rd trip to get it. Everything was cash in the rental business .. still is Worse part.. she calls me after leaving the house and said... you will never see the money...ha ha... Well I got the last laugh

Who cares if it is fake, government prints it every day.

If get paid with fake money, pass it on to next person, and on and on and the cycle continues.

As ole hil would say, "what difference does it make".
