It seems like a crock to me. To my knowledge, Jones only ever made the statement that he thought it was a hoax one time, in one pod/youtube -cast. And it was merely expressing the thought as a question (like most conspiracy theorists do). I'm no fan of Jones, but I have to admit I had the same thought at the time of the incident.

I think Jones and his site Infowars both are about a pickle shy of a peck and have even less credibility than the National Enquirer. That being said , I think this was a stupid judgement. Weren't the families claiming injury smart enough to just ignore his stupid conspiracy theories? Didn't they have the option to not tune in and listen to his b.s.? If not, wasn't their emotional damage somewhat self inflicted?
Somehow I doubt if much, if any of this judgment will be paid. If any is paid, I am sure the lawyers get first dibs so the families won't see any of the judgement. I hope it was worth it having to relive their losses over and over during the proceedings to only gain a small moral victory. Bob
Seems he let his mouth overload his ...
Their claim, and I guess what the court decided to be true, was that Jone's disciples were incited to threats and violence against them.

I sorta, kinda, understand that but unless those threats were carried out or an attempt was made to do harm then I still say it was b.s. By their logic, I should be able to sue Jack Daniels or Anhueser Busch because a couple of times drunks threatened to kick my butt. I contend it was the booze that incited those drunks, so I should have a case. Bob
If they are going after the likes of Jones, they better go after dirty corrupt pundits on CNN, MSNBC, WaPO and NYT etc. These spreaders of hate and misinformation need a reality check NOW.

Does anybody on this forum think that the Sandy Hook massacre was a staged event?
Jones is a nutcake moron.
@Waco Waltz this question is for you.

I listened to talk radio, and believed most of what I heard, but when 99% of the doom and gloom that was predicted on there never happened and it was fear mongering plus the radio people that claim to love this country have never done anything but * about the country,I can't stand to listen to any of them.Seems they always demonize democrats, which I completely agree, but I can't think of one republican I would trust with the keys to my pickup much less govern our country.
I will be as kind as possible. Alex is a certifiable nutcase, weirdo and goofball. His claims are so outrageous on most issues as to make the moon is made of cheese believable. With that said the verdict was political, it was meant to stifle free speach and to warn others that they too could be ruined in this life if they say what they think. The First Amendment is gone, only the Second keeps us from total Federal Control, for now.
I think no matter what a nut case he is or is not , its all about the power to be to make a example of him
how many threats and bad press have been leveled at many of the " right side " politicians with nothing but crickets coming from the peanut gallery
No protection under the first amendment, huh? I reckon he'll just has to pimp more crap on his site.

Well said bpost. It is a political verdict meant to stifle free speech.
No matter how much of a nutcake blabbermouth Alec is, and he is a major league blabbermouth, I was surprised that the judge didn't just throw out the case. Those Sandy Hook parents are a bunch of Libs, before this they never heard of Alec Jones, his rantings didn't affect the parents. A Billion dollars? That award is insane.
There are 3 sides to every story.. your side..my side..and the truth...
Wonder what ever happened to him.
