Intratec TEC-9 Question

I have a TEC-9 Mini. It works, sort of. I did test fire it.
Manually cycling the action, the striker is cocked, and the pistol strips off one round from the magazine and chambers it. Pulling the trigger fires that round, and the empty is extracted and ejected. Then, apparently the recoil impulse is not enough to drive the bolt far enough to the rear to cock the striker and load the next round.
I am not sure where the fault is. Too stout a recoil spring, faulty magazine, or my cruddy old ammo I used to test the gun.
Any ideas?

Weak Ammo.
Here is numrichs schematic .. a worn buffer will also get the gun out of time.

Thanks!
I did field strip and clean it, and I didn't function test it before.
I'm thinking bad ammo.
From what I’ve learned over the years the mechanics and sight picture are different with a Tec 9. You should definitely try holding it sideways.
Believe it or not, there was a rapper named “Tec 9”. Unfortunately he is no longer with us. & I fear we may have lost his guidance on the most appropriate use of the weapon when he passed on.
Looks like his understudy is undersized 🙄

That's half ounce, gone before his time.
I own the CZ version of the Tech 9.
Limp wristing it?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
