74 here today in SJ. Suppose to be near 80 on Saturday. couple weeks ago, it was in the 30s. Typical SJ weather
Just starting to flurry here, @NeoBlackdog
Hurricane season ended Nov 1 😄
We're up to 8 very wet inches but it's quit coming down. It's really wet and heavy snow.
Got the chains put on the tractor in case I need to hook up the snow blower and hit the road.
I wish you luck using the snow blower in wet snow.

Bright & sunny, 82* and still wearing shorts in S. Georgia 😊

+1 did that once, reminded me of an icee machine it just sort of blobbed out of the chute............
The key is to just creep along. If you do that then it does pretty good. It's a two stage blower and works much better than a single stage does in wet snow.
I took the pickup out to the end off the lane and back a while ago just to get some tracks made before it freezes hard tonight. There were three small trees that had fallen across the road that I was able to move without the saw.
High here today was 82
Neo, where is that snow??
I can remember when I loved snow!!
Now I love South Carolina snow. You know, get up in the morning to 3 to 4 inches of snow. Say thank you Jesus for showing me all this beauty!! Snow melted by noon!! My kind of snow!! 😁
beautiful!
Just a bit SSW of Kalispell, MT. Come on up and I'll help you re-learn how to shovel snow!
Better you than me NeoBlackdog.
No snow, but probably 5 inches of oak leaves that need mulching. Supposed to hit 80 deg today, some severe weather tomorrow. I'll take snow! (but not too much)
Keep that white stuff to yourselves . Have hated it ever since a blizzard knocked down one of our poultry houses costing us $30,000.00 to rebuild .
18 degrees this am, clear and beautiful.
We've been without power since 9 last night. We're in town for dinner so I was able to check in here.
Our generator came on so everyting is still working except the modem. For some reason it doesn't like the power coming from the generator. Lights up but won't connect. Any ideas on that?
Would really help me put things in perspective if the locations were stated🤔
The generator may be making a goofy sine wave that the modem does not like.
That's what I figured. Is there some type of small power conditioner I can plug it into?
Asop, we're just outside of Kalispell, MT.
Yes there are. I think you can find them in most hardware stores or on Amazon. But before you invest in that, you might try adjusting the throttle on the genset to see if there is a sweet spot your modem might prefer. Sometimes you get a genset that doesn't produce 60hz very well if the throttle is full bore and minimal load.

Yep, what Mr. P said. Set your DVOM on Hz, and see what it's reading. I have a 4KW generator that was making 53-54Hz. I had to tweek the governor to get 60hz. Then I had to find, and tweek the voltage regulator down a tad due to the increased engine speed.
And we're back! 39.5 hours without power and all is well.
At one point there were around 20,000 folks without power around here.
Mr. P and HPD, thanks for the input on the generator. I'm not sure if I have a DVOM, but I'm gonna get one and see what we can do to get a proper sine wave goin' on this machine. It's funny, everything else ran just fine but the modem didn't like what it was getting for some reason.
I have a Klein model I got at HD that I like a lot. Fluke works well too. Somewhere back I had one from Sears that had amazing functionality but it died a few years ago.
That said, I don't think your basic DVOM is going to have the resolution speed you need to see what hz you are getting if all it is is variations that your modem doesn't like. Might be worth a shot but I wouldn't spend a lot of time trying to chase that.
Might just be best to try a conditioning power strip:

What would be pretty cool is if they made one that you could just wire into the box to replace a regular outlet. That'd be perfect!
Unfortunately, it doesn't make much sense to do that (not to mention the circuitry required wouldn't fit in the form factor). There are whole home power conditioners available, however.
And there are surge protection outlets you can buy. Still don't clean up the signal much.

Wow! If I lived there, I would be in my winter home in Costa Rica by now.
We had major rainstorm move through here in Missouri last night. Radar was showing snow just north of Kansas City. Thinking we are going to be in for a wild ride this winter.
