No, they're not blackmailing Trump, it's something else.

I used to think the Democrats had something on Trump and blackmailed him into sabotaging his effectiveness by deliberately alienating people

What if all they did was give him a taste of stardom in TV which is a very liberal industry? It could have thrown him completely off his game.

He had been trying to get nominated to run for president since 1988.

When they saw him getting close, they suggested a TV show and treated him like a diva and flattered him about his chances to be president.

Then when he started to politely turn them down, they probably blushed and said, "oh, you thought we meant for us?"

When he eventually became president, he played for glamor points by hot dogging on Twitter and alienated all the moderates and all the thinking Republicans. It had gotten personal for him.

He couldn't let go of being a star during the Jan. 6 riots and failed to call off the rioters.


Now he's undermining Republicans who support him because they only support him within the bounds of reason.
