I got a new rifle this year like these:
I missed several deer this year I just cannot get used to the accutrigger
have any of you had this experience?
went back to my ole meat gun Savage 110 with a Timney trigger and downed the first two deer I shot at with it at-least I'm not going blind yet

I have three different Savage rifles with accutriggers and a couple with the old standard ones. After I got used to the Accutrigger, I really like it. I have taken deer out past 250 yards with a 16 Trophy Hunter in .308. I guess they work for me for whatever reason.
I guess if you have something that works for you, stick with it ! Thank you for all the pics, my hunting has been limited this year so it is fun to see others having success !
I reckon it's just different than my Timney trigger I have in my old Savage
whatever we get used to I reckon
I know I'm a creature of habit
We have a Savage bolt action .22 with the accutrigger. It has done great for us.
Every Savage bolt action rifle I have ever owned has been extremely accurate right out of the box. One of the best is a .22LR with accutrigger (adjusted to minimum let off). It is my go-to medicine loaded with Remington sub-sonic ammo for all the rabbits in my garden. Absolutely deadly out ot 75 yards or so.
I have one with the accutrigger and some without and I really can't tell a difference in accuracy. They all shoot well but the accutrigger is noticeably better.
Had no trouble adjusting to it, and have no clue why anyone would. Mine is on a .17, but it will drill dimes at 75 feet.
all I can say is that I love my Timney triggers and think I will get one and replace the accutrigger
maybe I will give the accutrigger away on here
thanks for the responses
I've never had my hands on a rifle with an Accutrigger. What is it about the Accutrigger that's so different and makes it so difficult to use?
I guess it's just what I have got used to I just lightly squeeze my Timney trigger and they go off
the accutrigger is like a two stage trigger pull that works great I reckon but just not for me right now because it's not what I'm used to
I did get a deer with it this year but I missed several also
doe neck is not a very big target you cannot pull off much without missing
How does the new gun shoot on paper? Maybe it's something other than the accu trigger. I love the accu trigger, one of the best cheap factory triggers out there.
I would shoot more at paper to make sure it's accurate and repeatable. If not, I'd look at other things very closely.
ok thanks I do need to shoot some more at paper you are correct
I shot it real well out of my shooting bag sighting it in before going hunting

How to Adjust the AccuTrigger on Bolt Action Rimfire Rifles (savagearms.com)
I don't really like the 'trigger in a trigger' function BUT it seems to be the newest/bestest thing. All my Savage rifles are old style but a couple have upgraded/aftermarket triggers which are plenty good enough.
My TC Compass II has the blade release trigger and is set well below what would be safe in an old style trigger. It is a wonder to shoot but you can still jerk it if you try hard enough.
Well it's no wonder he doesn't shoot it well! Some jackwagon stuck a Glock trigger in his rifle!!!
Timney, Jard, and Rifle Basix all make replacement triggers for the Savage Accutrigger.
I have 2 Savage 308 Bolt Actions with accutriggers and don't care for them. Any side pressure on what everyone considers the trigger causes the sear to be disabled, requiring the bolt to be worked to recock the rifle. I think it's a dumb design, while I can learn it, I don't care for it.
I have an Savage and remember the first time I was lining up a shot on paper and went to touch the trigger and bam it went off. It’s so light , almost too light for close in shots where you need to squeeze
I like my model seven best. No frills trigger just wide and Deliberate pull req
I love the accutrigger.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
