Calling the Ford garage first thing in the morning... My 2015 F-150 started making a metal grinding noise when I accelerate and stops when I let off. After researching it, the issue is likely a vacuum solenoid valve or check valve, leaky hub actuator vacuum lines, transmission, a broken CV joint, a bad wheel bearing, a worn engine/motor mount, or a differential issue.
So fun times ahead.....

Hope it is a wheel bearing.
I;m guessing it's a differential issue.
Life might not kick in until Tuesday since most will be off tomorrow.
The sound is not coming from the motor, I hope!
Not the motor....somewhere in the rear. I read an interesting article about vacuum sensors/lines that can account for the noise. The computer thinks the thing needs to be in 4WD even with the switch in 2WD......Hoping that is it as it a fairly easy fix. I thought maybe a wheel bearing too....but the noise stops when I let off the gas...
I am a little too compromised to take it off and check it........
And as said above, it was -3 when I drove towards town and it started in... I turned around and went back home...
The ECM computer controls everything on these newer cars and trucks. My granddaughters Kia is so mucked up, when you turn the right turn signal on, the right reverse light blinks,
. The dealer says it will cost $1000 to refresh the ECM.
Here's hoping for something quick n easy.
I'm with knifecoll , front bearing differential. Especially if you pull a trailer and like to punch the gas pedal while doing so.
You were correct.......the Ford Dealership is closed today !!!
Dry U-joint.
There needs to be a car company that makes a mechanical car. No electronics just mechanics
I would buy two
put it in 4 high if noise goes away its either your vaccum solinoid or more likely bad iwe check valve
At least you have the cause pinpointed!
That is what I think it is....
Ding Ding Ding.....we have a winner. Reasonable fix, they had the parts in stock and I was in and out in an hour !!!!
Same.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Good news on the fix em up. Glad it was not major and very costly.
Well, I was wrong. Glad you had it fixed. And that they had the parts there.
Heck yeah!!! Look at the new guy go!!! Welcome aboard, we can use someone that knows something. Stick around and post up. Well done @chuck460
+1 !!
A fella that smart prolly needs more than just one star...
11months as a member and scores 100% on his first post! Way to go @chuck460
If I would have had 11 months to think about it, I might have got it right too.............
Well he joined 11 months ago and answered the post on the second day it was posted, so how did he think about it for 11 months? JK it was a pretty funny come back.😁
Gotta Go Toyota.
If I won a Toyota, I would trade it in for an F-150 !😜
