I was shooting at an indoor range today and had a little incident with a hot brass. Shooting 9mm 124gr FMJ ammo and enjoying a good time with a few friends. About the 20th round I fired, the brass ejected and hit the top of my shooting lane and dropped right down in between my shooting glasses and my eye. HOT 😬 for sure, I set my firearm down and knocked it out...... Nice little burn mark next to my eye....Finished my magazine and called it a day...
So lesson learned, Wear my hat like I know I should AND time for a new pair of wrap around shooting glasses..
It could have been a lot worse.....I remember watching a lady tear her shirt when a hot 7.62X39 went down her shirt....

9MM? you could of blown your lung out! Be careful! LOL
Yep, stuff happens. As you said, go prepared.
Good thing it wasn't a .410 your whole head would have caught on fire.
😉
They should make the brass cooler.

And drink it from a fountain

yikes. Hot brass does sting.
Suck it up lollypop!
Hey, I only cried for a minute or two 😜
I have done this in the past but not up on my eye that was an added bonus....
Seen a few ladies do something similar, whole lota jumping going on soon there after.
Buy a revolver, problem solved...........😀

Cool Brass, wasn't that Herb Alpert?
Glad it missed your eye ball
Hot brass is no fun doing a dance to get out is as long as it's not you doing it
I got in trouble many years ago not hot brass just a empty 22 casing
My wife stepped on one barefoot it cut a perfect 22 size plug out of the bottom of her foot
I would wager her string of bad words she yelled that day are still traveling out in space
That was somewhat of a conundrum at our range when a chick would come in with cleavage showing. Do you warn them and take a chance of offending someone?
i always wondered why one local range requires a hat ...
i was thinking it was for the lead landing on ppls hair , I guess it’s for brass
Or---- They want to sell hats.
Might have been.

I think it was “Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass”.
Well, sure if you want to be techincal about it.

We were out shooting Christmas day, my Granddaughter (30 y.o.) got a 9mm, and her Dad and I were helping her. She took a break and my SIL started shooting his AR15. I noticed an empty flying close to the g-daughter, so I moved her back a few feet. Can't have my "Sweety" getting hurt!!! I picked up am empty and showed her how hot it still was, and cautioned her about being aware of it. BTW- she is DEADLY with a pistol! All rounds in a steel silhouette out to 25 yards.
Stick to the recommended loads in the book. I never load hot loads.
Had a Desert Eagle deposit brass on my forehead enough, that it got traded off some many years ago.
Had a case rupture in a Taurus 9mm. Chunk of brass in the thumb and just under the eye.Could have been a real problem if I had not been wearing shooting glasses. I don't know if it was the Taurus or the ammo, but I no longer use either brand.
Not brass related but I've been a bit too close to the touch hole side of a firing flintlock a time or two! 😬
Have lit a cigarette off a M-60 barrel
