Had to look em up. They sound delicious.
Wife makes them as good as good as my mom and grandma did. They were full Sicilian, wife is not.
Haven't had a good cannoli since my Sicilian wife's aunt died. Been quite a few years and I'm totally envious Joe!
I tried one from a local bakery a couple years ago and if I had to judge a cannoli from this experience only, it would be very negative.
We have a genudamnwine Italian place here that makes 'em the size of a fireplace log. Truly more than even two people can eat - especially after one of their dinners.
btw Joe: you should leave out the apostrophes. Those things can chip a tooth.
Me too. Wouldn't have known what one was if I'd tripped on it. They definitely appear to be edible!
Never tried them before, always wanted to try them though. Wife and I looked up a recipe, the wife is the baker around here. I see it calls for ricotta cheese, I like ricotta cheese in lasagna and other Italian dishes, so I figure they have got to be a decadent flavorful dessert. Will try making some this coming week.
You got tubes to fry the crust with?
No I don’t think we do. But I see where they can be ordered on line, not that expensive it looks like, but a must have in order to make. The wife and I enjoy trying new things out when it comes to cooking.
Sounds like you have a plan. Let me know how it goes and how yous like them.
"Leave the gun, take the cannoli's!" 😁
Never had one if not for the shows like godfather and similar mafia movies i would have never head of them
May have to check into it
Leave the gun take the cannollies
Well the cannoli tubes came Saturday earlier than expected. Used the Marsalis wine in the shells and zest of orange and mini dark chocolate chips in the filling. Absolutely delicious. I have always wanted to try them. Little time consuming to make, but well worth it.
We plan on making them again, they would be a great treat for the holidays next year when the family gets together.
One more thing off my bucket list.
Forgot to mention, jerky gun works great for filling the shells.
Joe, please give Denise my address, and ship them overnight😁. I haven't had a good cannoli, since my grandmother was alive. She was from Palermo, Sicily. My Grandfather, was from Taormina, Sicily. My fathers side was from Perth, Scotland. What a mixture.
Thats great. Glad you enjoyed them, good job.
My grandfather was mayor of Palermo for awhile.
Never heard of them.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Well now you have. Give them a try.
