Glasses, Yes!

In reference to Oakie. I have worn glasses since I was 12 years old. I am now 79. Took some ribbing and bullying when I was younger - I hate bullies but they made me stronger. Over the years my glasses saved my sight three times that I can remember, maybe more. For this reason, I never got contacts. Ed

About the same here , even after cataract surgery I still wear them
Glasses are kind of like beards. They grow on ya! 😁
They also make a great disguise. Just ask Clark Kent.
They have saved my eyes more than once, but I still don't like them.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I have suffered minor eye injuries because I have never worn glasses. Now I keep a pair of safety glasses with the bifocals stashed in every vehicle. They really help if I crawl underneath and work from my back. No more dirt and debris falling in my eyes and I have learned to work with my mouth shut, too. I have reading glasses (1.50) in several rooms and I am wearing some now. I can see fairly well without them but why not make it as easy as possible to read print?
I don't like going to the dentist either, but I still have most of my teeth!.
Being a log truck driver nearly all my life, I can relate to crawling under vehicles!! Copy on keeping our mouths shut!!
Getting better with them. I still get a mild headache, but I like that I can now see things better.
