I miss BSR. I admired his tenacity. You either liked him or did not. i liked him. Come to think of it, I liked a lot of the members that are now missing. -----------Ray
Pabooger. Also Mabooger. There may have been other Boogers as well. And Patbuzzard. Pat was a moderator for a while. He and Mark C. didn't get along at all. Eventually Pat left and Mark stayed, benefitting the forum greatly.
What about Wallie?
I always liked comments from Government cheese ( I think he had another handle at one time)
I remember pictures of the beautiful home he had built
Perry Shooter (Karl) was a very nice man as well.. I got to meet and spend some time with him here in Louisville at one of our big gun shows.
He ask me to join him for dinner but I already had other plans. I regret missing that opportunity.
I think you mean cartod.......never met him personally but he live here in the same town..don't know what he did, but him and Mr Christian got into it over something, I remember mark saying he wouldn't be back
Cartod, thats it thanks..
I miss Ray B. A fine chap.
And then there was Scott M something or other. Red headed chap from Washington.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

And where is Catpeeler?

I think it had something to do with a box in an auction.
I also miss W.D. Truitt, can't remember his user name though.
Captain Midnight! One of the three members I've had the pleasure to meet in person. He was as big a character in real life as he was here on the forum. "Young lady might have some dairy blood in her".... LOL! I about fell outta my chair laughing the first time I read that.
I think he is the guy who said something like I'll have three fingers of bourbon in a washtub
That's him! The mayor of Carson, Washington. He and Dads3040 and I met up in Cascade Locks once when I was travelin' through there. We had a real enjoyable lunch and visit and then W.D. gave Dads and I each a quart jar of his home made 'Apple Pie'. Best. Apple. Pie. EVER! OMG it was smooth as could be and had a wallop to it!
Maybe some of you folks can remember the fellow MC sent to the" Island of Misfits".
He copied many photos from other sources and calimed they were all his firearms. Talk about a collection, not..
mrmike08075. If I recall, some members here passed the hat to buy one of his guns that he listed on the auction side and sent it back to him. We all felt sorry for him because he had pancreatic cancer-for 10 years. I could never figure that one out.
Was MC the one who allegedly had a myriad of life threatening medical problems that he was taking all sorts of radical treatments for?
Which MC?
IK it think you nailed it.
None of us were safe from DWS razor wit.
Yeah, I always wondered about mrmike08075, too. He seemed a little hard to believe. Didn't Kasey sell the gun that members paid for and turned back?
Highball could set you straight if you strayed from the strictest interpretation of the Second Amendment.
I went up to the Carson Gun Show once, just to meet him, wish I had more chances too do the same....
IIRC, he ended up passing away due to some amputations from Agent Orange.
I lurked for probably 11-12 years before joining/commenting. Primarily because I did not have an E-mail address to open an account with GB. I know all the names mentioned here, from way back when.
My Brother, (ecPilot135) used to proxy bid for me and then I would step in and complete the transaction. (Probably did at least/approx 10 like that.)
When I moved back down South, (where I am now) after a couple years here, I bought a Tablet (what I am typing on now) and opened an E-mail account, joined GB, started buying under my name and commenting here.
(So) Even though I might have only been active on the forums for apprx 10 years, I have been reading most everything here for around/approx 20 years.
Same for me. I went one time by my self, and my wife and I went another time.
One day I got a long e-mail from Perry Shooter. He invited me to stop at his house just off I64. He wanted to talk shooting and show me his range at his house since i had done some competitive shooting during and after my Army days. His daughter taught HS in Fluvanna County where my second home is located and Karl was in charge of the Rappahannock Pistol Club. I believe he worked for John Deer Tractor in Charlottesville. It would have only been a little out of my way to visit him but i passed until the next trip I said.
Karl was such a nice man and i deeply regret my decision because Karl passed away before the next time. Never put off for tomorrow what you should do today.------Ray
Kimi. RIP amigo
I also miss Nanuq907. He wasn't around here very long but he sure complimented the forums with his compassionate ways, his interesting stories, and his life in Alaska. Every time I see an older Land Rover on the road, I think of Nanuq. May he RIP.
I never met Karl but he was nice enough to guide me thru several problems over the years. Whether small engine related or 45acp and the 1911 , he always had the answer to my problem.
@Brookwood, was Nanuq907 the guy that posted about seeing a Bear running up beside his Land Rover and he could not accelerate faster than the Bear, because his Land Rover was so slow?
That was Hysterical. 😂
I miss Stink Foot
Damn Straight.😉
nanuq907 I agree it was terrible loss to us and his family may he RIP
I think his son signed up and posted a short time not sure if he is still lurking.
Fish killer ?
and BSR of course
so many more their names have slipped into the darkness of my memory and sorry I have forgot their names
but their stories I recall
The saddest thing about growing old is losing your friends. Someday, if we are lucky, we will be missed and remembered by our friends and family. Life ain't easy for a boy named Sue.............
Yet once again! I'm afraid that dat blame water buffalo might have got the best of him.
Stinkfoot was a regular member here who had multiple accounts. He is no longer on here. Don
There was cutiegirlracing, I think it was, who lied about a whole bunch of stuff and wasn't even a girl if I remember right. Seems like about every time she went out in a boat it would tip and she would lose tools, guns, chainsaws, you name it.
Actually, from the vast number of people who use GB, there is a very small percentage who are on the forums.
Hi folks, been gone awhile, haven't meant to be a stranger. Due to a hectic work schedule and related firewalls on work 'puters I mainly used my phone. Apple, (Yeah I know, flame away.) did it's best to block GB access at every turn. In frustration I faded into the background. This issue, for some reason seems to have lessened to some degree. After hearing from Oakie and Ken/84Bravo I figured I'd give this another try. Good to see ya'll.
" Good to see ya'll."
Good to be seen, and not viewed. Glad you found your way back!
Seems he was only active for a short time but made a large impression. I miss his posts too, damn straight.
