Anyone carry a pocket derringer as a back up weapon? I carry a .38 derringer in my front pocket in a holster custom made for the gun.It actually shoots quite well at reasonable distances.

Not really much good for anything more than putting into someones belly, but better than nothing.
D.
Tomcat, too.
Tomcat three. Stainless, with pretty Rosewood grips. I carry it by itself on Sundays.
I told my wife I bought it for her.
IMHO, those small caliber(sp?), tiny guns are useless

Nine milly.
I hear it "is no good, has no knock down power, wouldn't hurt a flea, blah blah blah."
There was a thread on here where a state trooper shot it out with a guy, the trooper shot the bad guy four times in the torso, he lived.
The bad guy got the trooper once with a .22 NAA, graveyard dead trooper. Trooper was wearing a vest, too.
The whole rig slips into a back pocket [with holster] but needs a jacket to cover it.
Beretta 21A..dot the bad guys eye & never bother drawing it out ; old sports coats with a button pocket for ' traffic stops'( requires a warrant to peek), are cheap & pretend your a digging out your wallet .SURPRISE💥💥
Holy cow! Talk about your Sunday resurrections. I think this threads been on here longer than I have!
Welcome to the zoo, StElmo. We have a place near the top of the General Discussion page where you can introduce yourself, if you'd be so inclined.
gotta wonder Neo, if elmo ain't owles twin brother..........
He seems tickled.
I hate to break up the consensus of opinion, but I have personally seen a coin dealer put one perp DRT, another died 1 mile away on the traffic stop of the perps get away car with a little 22 mag derringer. The only perp to survive was the driver who did not get out of the car.
When nobody was around I told the coin dealer thanks. He actually handled it well for taking out 2 lowlives. Good job, well done to a calm "victim" that was facing two armed perps.

.22 mag is a man-killer
For that matter, the .22lr is also a man-killer
same here......I have 2 of them.
P-32 that I didn't carry regularly. Then my hands got too sore to rack the slide and gave it to a pal. She is 40 years younger and a lot stronger! Now, no backup but bought a 9mm S&W e-z slide and love it.
In the summer, a Seecamp LWS 32 is my carry gun.
A Glock doesn’t need a backup gun.
😁
This GLOCK you speak of, is that a good reliable handgun?? Can I swim with it and shoot sharks underwater?? What if I drop it?? Do I have to worry about scratching it?? How often do I have to clean it??
Yes. Yes. Don't drop it. No. Never.
True, When all else fails, get a Glock. Don
