Welcome new member @Lady Rae . As per your first post and very helpful suggestion, I have created this thread for newbies to introduce themselves to the forum.
Also, consider this your "welcome to the forums" message from me.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

Welcome clouds99!
Thank you so much for the welcome - appreciate you all!
Howdy all.
Have had a GB account since 2008. Found the forums a while back and a while after that decided to sign up.
It's been interesting so far. Glad to be here.
Interesting here, that's an understatement. Although this is a mild bunch compared to the old days.
Welcome @Steve_OH
I have not posted in years, so hi.
I like long walks on the back with a rifle and intimate dinners with a quality hand gun.
@Tflogger welcome back.
Steve O, the wrestler?
Welcome back @Tflogger

Hey all - new to this forum, but not to shooting. I shoot mid to long range target, trap and skeet mainly. My firearm interest is geared more to modern accurate stuff. Been collecting since before the Army and reloading for the past 40 years.
Thanks for having me.

Where in Norkal?
Outside of Ferndale, 80 miles from the Oregon border.

Is it still 80 miles from Oregon or did that last earthquake shift you a bit closer to the boarder? 😲

Hello. I'm probably on the wrong forum but wasn't sure where to start. I've sold on GB in the past but now I have some ammo to sell and have found shipping costs too expensive to sell small amounts. Is it possible to post with pickup only. I'm in a state where private sales are legal.
Welcome @rand4cc , yes you can specify local pickup only in your auction, I've seen it many times on ammo auctions.
I'm new here, but have bought from GB in the past, just found the forum. Have a question to ask, not sure where to ask it at, if this is not the place please get me to the right area.
I placed a bid on a hand gun and immediately went up by $2.00, I did this a few time more and the same thing happened, up by $2.00, I did noticed that the bidder started a week back and the date never changed. How does this happen? Thank you
Welcome @Blue Triker when someone enters their bid it is a "max bid" however the actual bid shown as the current bid amount will only increase the amount by enough to be the current "wining" high bidder. This can happen as many times as it takes up until it reaches your max bid amount at which time you can bid again with a higher amount if you want to. Lot's of buyers can't and won't watch an item all the time they just enter the total they are willing to spend and let it go, sounds like that is what you are seeing. You are bidding against the others guys max bid which hadn't been reached yet.
Look at item #979265393 Hi Standard Double Nine Posse Ser. l1345703, I just placed a bid of $87, it immediately went to $89, I placed the bid today 4/1, the one who outbid me, his date 3/31. I don't understand?
@Blue Triker please read about the auto bidding process at this link:
https://support.gunbroker.com/hc/en-us/articles/221374368
I tried to explain it to you above... the current wining bidder on that auction entered their max bid on the 3/31 date and so that is the date shown, if you want to beat them you will have to bid beyond whatever their max bid is. There is no way to know that amount until you reach it or beyond and you take over as the leader until you win or get outbid.
Good luck
Thank you, I think I understand it now.
Welcome to the club, @Blue Triker !
A strategy that most of us use most of the time is to simply figure out what the maximum amount we are willing to pay is and then enter that number as our bid. Use the 'Advanced Search' feature to research what those guns have gone for in the past and that'll give you a pretty good indication of what the one you're lookin' at will go for. Here's what I found for the gun you're lookin' at.
Willing to go that high?
