Thanks guys. I go in at 11 this morning. May not make a report until tomorrow.
My back must know today is the day because it's shooting lightning bolts down my leg.

This thread has been heartwarming. There are good folks here.
Going out the door in a bit.
Good thing my surgeon isn't Indian, because I'm gonna get scalpeled...
😁😁😁 That's a very creative play on words! Took me a second reading to get it. Well played. Bob
one more vote all goes well for you

waiting for the good news 🙂
Rocky, I have had three back surgeries already. This was the first time. Now I have a cage, three rods and four more that look like this. I feel great most days and can do thing I couldn't do before. Let everything heal, even though you think you are fine. Took me about eight months to fully heal. I have one more surgery awaiting, but after I retire in 2 years.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you sir. May the surgeons do their magic and make you better. Just remember, the leg pain will subside, but will probably come back after a few years, due to scar tissue. They can give you steriod injections to fix that. God bless. Oakie
Prayers and best wishes.
Prayers for a complete recovery .
My daughter is scheduled for back surgery next month..........and her mom and I are a bit anxious, to say the least.
Good luck to you sir.
First, thanks for all the very kind words and wishes.
Surgery went well. I fell asleep in post-op and didn't hear what the Doc said to my wife, but I guess there were no complications. I was given some some narc pain reliever and that knocked me out for the next 12 hours. But I had a pain-free first night. Until I got up to pee at 5. Learned real quick that putting weight on my back is an eye-opener. If I stretch myself as tall as I can, it's a lot better, so I'll be a walking poster boy for posture for a while, LOL!
Doc says to walk as much as I can, but no more than a mile a day. I suspect that less than will be the case.
Anyhow, I'm here at the 'pooter again to annoy y'all by being smarter than half of you.
Side note: one of my nurses was tickled when I pronounced the ingredient in Tylenol as "A set of minnow fins." My pun generator is undamaged.
Glad to hear it went well, Rocky! Keep up on the exercises and you may find yourself back on the links when the snow clears.
Forgot until just now. Today is my birthday. My journey through space has completed 76 solar orbits.
happy birthday Rocky, hope this surgery turns out to be a great birthday present.
Happy 76th!
Glad you are on the road to recovery. Bob
I can't think of a better birthday gift than to be pain free. I hope that works out for you!
I have several deteriorated discs in my neck and can relate to the agony. Heading to the pain clinic in two weeks for some more trickery, as this is the second round with them. I really hate big needles.
Prayers for a good prognosis and healing process.
Happy birthday
Glad to hear it went Ok and happy birthday.
Happy Birthday Rocky
Glad to see everything went well, and happy BD! Spending ones BD in the horse pistol, that's just swell aye?
It was outpatient surgery. Home again in four hours total even under full anesthetic. (Sadly, I did not get to count backwards in my NASA voice. The sleepy time guy must've opened the valve as they wheeled me into the room. I got one quick glance at the operating table, and that was it.) Didn't even get any hopsinkle food.
Walking laps around the house today per instructions. With the drugs, though, I don't know how many I did. They must've been laps of memory...
Happy Birthday, and glad the operation went well.
Happy Birthday Rocky, glad to hear you are on the mend.
Mule
Laps of memory, Lord have mercy!! You and I should never get together!! We would bad pun each other to death!!
I will concede, laps of memory is really quite good!!
Happy Birthday, what a birthday gift, hopefully a painless back. The best gift you could ever ask for. God's speed on a fast recovery, hopefully no more misery as you sure have had your share.
Keep walking as much as you can, you don't want to get any blood clots, they are awful.
Painless? Not by a long shot. The nerve that was numb for three months is making up for lost time in a big way. The upside is that it didn't die, but wowsers the pain. Popping narc pills as much as I'm allowed. Gave up being a hero the first day.
dreher, I now have a plastic basket of meds that I have named Regis because it's a Pillbin.
